Office Pools

At my work right now we have a 'baby pool' going to guess the date and weight of the newest arrival. I think they chip in a few dollars each and the winner takes the money. There are many other kinds of office pools that go on, too. I don't participate, mainly because I really need my hard earned money. (I always participate in gifts, parties, etc.) But every now and then I hear "why aren't you joining in?" I guess I find the baby pool least appealing, just seems a little off to me to be betting on a baby's birth. Ugh, sometimes I get tired of being the maverick. Anyone else?

I only joined the lottery pools at work..I was sooo afraid of them winning, and me not entering

We have baby pools, sports pools and lottery pools at my office. I always go in and sometimes spot my staff cash on the lottery pools.

The baby pool we run, if the baby is born on the due date, the parents automatically get the pool. The parents of this last one wanted us to start it.

I have (sarcasm, please note humor) suggested the following pools as well but they didn't go over to well, Length of Marriage/Dating Pools and Length of Employment Pools.
