Office Bathroom Etiquette - A Rant

I don't know if I'd call throwing poop covered TP in the corner of a room trying to do the right thing!!! Do thay do that in their homes???? I doubt it! Thats just plain nasty!!!!

They all told him that they were afraid to mess up the plumbing, so they thought they were doing the right thing. Apparently it is quite common to do that in some areas of Mexico. :confused3

Heh, my boss and I have office areas next to each other; there's a bathroom close to her, and a bathroom close to me (old Victorian restored; seven million rooms). She always uses the bathroom close to her, UNLESS she has to... ahem... BM. THEN she uses the bathroom next to me. :crazy2:

Wouldn't they place the paper in a trash can if it's not possible to flush it? (In Mexico, I mean) Why would they just put it on the floor? :scared:

In the ladies room at my DH's office building, they had to put signs inside every stall reminding people (in English and Spanish!) to flush the toilets! Seems a lot of "ladies" weren't flushing. Yikes!!

I once--almost--had to have a disciplinary talk with someone I was supervising who repeatedly refused to flush the toilet, always when it was, er, #2. SO beyond gross. We knew for sure that it was her because we worked 3:30-midnight, so we were the only ones in the office building (well, me and my staff and a couple of maintenance guys). One of the maintenance guys saw her walk into the restroom and after she left, checked the stall for proof. We'd posted signs and I'd made a general announcement before (though why one has to do that with adults is beyond me), but she persisted. Blessedly, I was able to convince my boss that it was his job and not mine to talk to her, 'cause I have no idea how I'd have handled that one. :scared1:

Actually this is quite a common thing. Plumbing is so bad in some areas of Mexico that its better to just toss it on the ground then to flush it. You would think that they would at least put it in the trash can, but nope.

DH has a guy at his work who NEVER washes his hands after going (don't ask me how he knows this, LOL) and he is the one who is ALWAYS shaking hands or slapping people on the backside! They have hinted around many times, but the guy is clueless!!! That is beyond gross....

Do you have a co-worker named Kathleen?
We have a single ladies bathroom here in our office - we had this chick working here for about 4 months, we had to post signs to flush the butt gaskets when done. Gheesh, it was weird.............
Okay, this is probably a stupid question...but what is a butt gasket???

Plus, you take the smell of the air freshener WITH you! My room is next to the faculty bathroom. I never smell bathroom odors, but I definitely smell those who waft out of the bathroom on a cloud of air freshener!
:lmao:Thanks for the visual. It made me lol.:lmao:

:scared1:What is wrong with people?!?:scared1:

Okay, I just threw up in my mouth a little. Ack!

It's very common in Mexico to not flush the tp because of the plumbing. You won't see it as much in tourist areas, the big hotels have beefed up plumbing. A former coworker's in laws were from Mexico and she could not convince them it was ok to flush the tp when they visited here. They are fairly wealthy so it's not just a poor/immigrant thing.

Some people are allergic to the air freshener - plus they don't really freshen anything, they just make everything smell nastier!

We have a natural orange spray in my bathroom. It actually smells quite nice except when you are trying to cover "that" odor. Then it just smells like someone took a crap in an orange grove:lmao:!!!

I and a guy I work with both keep mental lists of these people at our company. We'll often give each other "the nod" when we see one. We raise our eyebrows & point our head in the offender's direction. The other will respond with a "I'm adding them to my list" nod. LOL. Sadly, one of our company's worst female offenders is also the person that always seems to be cutting the cake whenever we have a celebration. But its been great for my diet. ;)

We have one lady who washes only one of her hands in the bathroom, she just keeps the other to her side- she touches everything at the sink with one hand. :confused3:confused3 We have just wondered at work- is it so difficult to just wash both hands. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'd rather smell poo covered up with air freshener than just poo ANY day!

As for the allergies, spray and run! It's not like you have to hang out in there after you sprey it!

Okay and haven't people ever heard of the "courtesy flush"? :confused3 Just because you're not done doesn't mean you can't flush. There is no rule that says you need to wait until you are done contemplating an wiping to flush that stinky stuff away. There is less "hang time" for the smell. :lmao:

And what's with the people that need to pee on the seats and not clean up after themselves??? :confused3 I can't imagine what their homes look like. :scared:
