Well, Saturday night I started to develop a head cold which didn't really come out full blast until Tuesday. Last night it moved into my chest and the cold medicine I have doesn't work well. Do you have any suggestions or remedies that may help? This cold has thrown me off this week with exercise/points but what can I do?

Thanks guys!

Me, my family & some of the people at work have the same thing going on and I know how horrible you feel :( Just make sure you are getting lots of fluids..I had to take DH to the ER yesterday and he was very dehydrated. He's just felt to bad to eat or drink but you still have to make yourself at least drink. Good luck & hope you feel better soon.

Cindy, the first thing to do is FORGET about any exercise that has you trying to breathe more deeply - nothing aerobic!! Any time you have chest congestion, you need to give your lungs a break - they're already working hard enough.

Your grandma was right - chicken soup really DOES help! It has something in it that helps you when you've got a chest cold. Forget about the points - eat what will help your body heal.

The age old saying is true - a cold will last 7 days if you take meds and a week if you don't. ;) If you can find something that eases the discomfort, then use it. If you have anyone in the house who has asthma, you probably have an albuterol inhaler - that can ease chest tightness and my doctor told me anyone in our family could use it when they have a chest cold. You may want to check with your doctor - I don't want to recommend using a prescription drug without the proper safeguards. ::yes::

Above all, I hope you are feeling better soon! :sunny:

I don't have any advice, but I do have a great big :hug: for you! Spring colds are the worst. I hope you're feeling better soon. :D

I sure hope you are feeling better, today. {{{HUGS}}}

Thank you everyone! Well, it turns out it wasn't a chest cold, it's bronchitis and and ear infection which means 3 prescriptions (antibiotic, inhaler and cough med) and another week of no exercise! I know I can't help it but I feel like whenever I get on a roll with exercise and points, something comes up. Oh well, anyway, I guess I should savor the break from exercise and having an excuse to lay on the couch ;) .

Cindy, I'm sending extra healing :wizard: and a gentle :hug: your way! Bronchitis is not to be messed with - take those meds and get yourself better, OK? Tell the family they need to baby Mom for a while!!

I do hope you're feeling better very soon!
