Off topic challenge, come inside!!!

NEW YORK STYLE CHEESECAKE RULES!!!! and I'm pretty sure you could have gotten it at Woolworth's in NYC at Christmas time only now one could be eating a McDonald's McFlurry while sipping on a Latte flicking the button on their new car key fob to start and stop the engine so as to keep it warm while the snow is falling.

I remember the days when Woolworth's had a cafe/soda shop in it. I used to go there sometimes, even into the late 80s during college.

Do any department stores have restaurants or cafes anymore? I know some have a coffee and pastry place just outside, but I haven't seen a real eating place in decades.

Just Ikea, I think...

The Ikea furniture looks so bare. We bought shelves from them years ago. We don't have those shelves any more. And don't shop thee much now either.

DH hates their stuff. He likes solid wood and would prefer to buy used to get real solid wood, not pressboard. But I have two Billy Bookcases that I used when we homeschooled and are now in our walk in closet to hold shoes. They work well.

And my son has a bed frame with drawers underneath from IKEA and he loves it. We actually bought that used in perfect shape.

Jelly Beans - I love the Jelly Belly Buttered Popcorn

:jumping1::jumping1:

My friends and I saw a new movie called "The Shack" on Friday. I can't say I really enjoyed it, but I'm glad I watched it. It really made me think about actions and forgiveness. Also, when we talked about the movie some things came out based on our perspectives that we didn't realize while watching the movie.

One of my friends, R, really loved it, I found it thought-provoking, but we thought that our other friend, B, really didn't enjoy it at all, and that kind of puzzled us. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but wondering if anyone has seen it, and what you may have got out of the movie.

But did you get popcorn when you saw the movie? I hate when the popcorn shells get stuck in my gums!

As a matter of fact, I did! I got a small bag of popcorn with some good ole' theater fake butter. It was so good. ;)

Oh, and there is a movie coming out about a young girl who's super smart. Looks like it will be a fun movie to watch.

But, these days I'm binging on the Gilmore Girls. I never did watch that series when it was on. I'm on Season 3 now and still enjoying it. Checking out Milo (This is Us) on IMDB led me to it.

I really like eating popcorn and a pickle at the movies. The Big Papa pickles are the best. Don't get the Hot Mama pickles unless you really like hot stuff because they are REALLY spicy.

I went to a Brittney Spears concert when I was 7.
Brittney Spears performed in Boston's Downtown Crossing on a Tuesday afternoon in the early 90's, and I didn't go.
I don't know Jack!

TC :cool1:
You know Jack. Jack Skellington, candlestick-jumping Jack, Jack Sparrow...
Didn't Ozzie Osborne pee on the Alamo?
OMG! Ozzie and Harriet's son Ricky was SO dreamy! His is another concert I didn't attend, in Cambridge in December 1985. His plane crashed a few weeks later.

I was so sad when John F Kennedy Jr plane crashed :(

Today my daughter who is home from college for spring break and I are going for the free pancakes at IHOP, well you are supposed to leave a donation.

My husband and I once had a huge fight over a theoretical organ donation. It was almost 30 years ago, and he is still a little angry about it. Short version... I am not giving him a kidney if he needs one.

I bicycled 140 miles last Saturday and didn't have a slice of NY Style Cheesecake after. :sad1:

p.s.-Kaytie, bet you would have liked to have been at "A Garden Party."

I like tangerine. Buttered popcorn is probably my least favorite flavor - except, of course, for those "Bertie Botts" ones from the Harry Potter movies.

Speaking of Harry Potter movies, DS has one of those on right now - Chamber of Secrets.

My friend moved out of SoCal and now lives up near the Jelly Belly factory. When I went to visit her, we toured the factory. They also sell big pound bags of "belly flops" that didn't turn out well in the factory. They are really cheap.

My kids loved it when she came to visit.
