Many of you might have read that I canceled my families WDW trip this last year because a lot of our favorite things were closed. Port Orleans French Quarter was closed, the boats that ran from the hotels to Downtown Disney were drydocked, the Carousel of Progress and Timekeeper attractions were closed, etc. Well, I am pleased to report that as of the summer of this year, everything should be back up and running. (With the exception of Port Oleans which is scheduled to reopen in October of this year.) I have been told by my friends at Team Disney that most of these are reopening because of an overwhelming amount of complaints from guests that they were closed. Disney does a lot of surveying and I guess these things were on a lot of peoples lists. Well, I know this isn't really the right forum and I know that many people will say "who cares" but I just booked a trip to WDW for January of next year. They earned me back as a customer again. It's nice to see that they do listen to us...even if it is when we cancel trips!

Anyway, I made such a big to do about canceling that I felt that I should report the reasons that we're going back.

Roy

Glad to hear you're going back, Roy! :)

Disney actually is one of the more responsive companies around; I know that on the Cruise Line they have made many, many changes based on guest input.

Hope you have a great trip. :)

Yes, Roy, I agree. Sometimes when you have a serious concern, you really do need to give the people in power some constructive feedback. :)

I am glad that you will be going. Hope you have fun planning your trip!

I think you did the proper thing by cancelling your trip because the resort closure was a major problem for you. Failing to give WDW your money (and informing them why) is important. Disney is a business and they will make decisions based on financial considerations.

I am glad it will open back up!

Roy- I'm glad you have found some reasons for optimism, and that you felt positive enough about it to re-schedule your trip.

I know that CoP and Timekeeper have been listed as "seasonal attractions" for awhile now. Have your friends indicated they will go back to operating 100% of the time?

Thanks...
