Off to DLR on 8/27/08!!!!!!!!

We will arrive late on wednesday and stay offsite that night and check in early thursday @ DLH!!!!! Hopefully we can get a nice upgrade if possible.
This trip is my gift to my parents for there 25 year anniversary!

Wishing for a dream tower dtd view room!!!! fingers crossed if not all is well.

By checking in early we hope to be allowed early entry for thursday.

We are wishing for light crowds on thursday too.

ONE BIG PROBLEM!!!!!

A month ago when our plane tickets were purchased I forgot to buy MY return trip to houston. My parents are staying extra days but I have to return on Sept 1st! So now i'm trying to find the best deal from LA to Houston.
Cheapest I found was 230$ with tax on SWA. Anybody have any suggestions?

what would be the easiest way to lax from DLH at an affordable rate?

Asaide from that I read here once that there was this place in DTD to get a good breakfast at a great price but can't find the thread anymore? does anyone remember?

I want to take my parents to charachter meals but read the price is now
40$!!!!!! per person???? we are used to paying that per day for the dinning plan at wdw which seems to be a better value than at DLR.

are there any discounts for dining with mickey and his friends at any of the restaurants? we have Deluxe APs.

We will be going back to that lil mexican establishment in dtd that was a real good value though.

you can try the DL express bus to LAX or Super Shutte/Shuttle Express. I think the DL express bus might be cheaper...
sorry, can't help you out on your other questions...but hope you all have a great time next week...and i'll cross my fingers too that you get an upgrade. oh, good luck checking in early...not too sure if you'll be able to do early entry then...if the park opens at 8am, that means magic morning is at 7am...are you thinking that you'd be able to check in before 7am?

i dont mind getting there at 6am if needed to check into DLH.
I think I might have misunderstood the pricing for the meals.
I thought I saw 40$ somewhere per person but on wdwinfo shows 28$
That price is much better.

When we booked Goofy's Kitchen last year and showed our automobile association membership, we got 10% off. I believe this discount is good for any of the character meals. I don't know what kind of discount you get with the deluxe AP, I would guess it should be at least as good.

You get 10% off with Deluxe APs. You can also purchase the character meal breakfast vouchers for $26.50/per including tax and tip from Getawaytoday.com here (just change the "type" to "dining") - which is a good deal depending on which character meal you are going to.

Character Breakfasts:

Goofy's - $37.16/adult (incl. tax and tip)
Minnie's - $30.16/adult (not incl. tax and tip)
Storyteller's - $29.08/adult (not incl. tax and tip)

With purchasing from GAT, you do not need to wait for anything to be mailed to you - you will just need to bring the credit card purchased and p/u the vouchers at the park (at the DLH if you are staying there, so very convenient). If you purchase them on the phone, you can ask for the code "podcast" to waive the $10 handling fee as well.

This must be hit-and-miss as to who you talk to at GAT, as others report the code isn't even accepted over the phone any more.
