off the wall question about EPCOT's world showcase

ok,,,and not that it matters,I am just curious:how did they choose the "countries" to be at EPCOT?....I love it(one my faves at WDW) I was just wondering how they picked what went in..tia!!!!

I believe each of the countries had to apply for a spot, with a lot of financial obligations etc to be sure they were going to be in it for the long haul. That seems to be a major sticking point when it comes to adding that new country Epcot keeps hoping for.

I always wondered this also, it seems to me of USA is mad at a country we should make them leave
