Off site Timeshare rentals - Travel Agent?

Hello, my mother is generously taking all her kids (3) and grandkids (5) to Disney next June 2014. My sister and her boyfriend, my brother, his wife and 3 kids (all under age 6) and myself, husband and 2 kids (5 and 7 at time of travel). She is smart enough to want 3 separate 2 bedroom condos !!

However, she is really not the planning, research till you drop kinda vacationer. She is wondering if she could rent the condos with a travel agent??

I am steering her towards Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa or Wyndham Bonnet Creek. We want a fabulous pool with a resort feel, restaurants on-site and transportation options, as I do not think we will have 3 rental cars (we plan to meet up during the day, but not necessarily spend the entire days together).

Suggestions? Recommendations? Other resorts we should look at?

Bonnet Creek would be a great choice---several very nice pools, a reasonably regular shuttle, and now that the hotel property is open a fair number of restaurants to pick from. One of the larger "mega-renters" would probably fit the bill---they are pretty easy to work with, and don't require a ton of planning. The two most commonly used here for Bonnet Creek are:

Yes, many of the large chain run timeshare resorts can be booked either with a Travel Agent, or directly through the hotel's booking site. Some are also available as package tours - that's how we discovered timeshares as a good option for us; we booked a tour package through Air Canada Vacations at Sheraton Vistana Villages.

I would recommend either of the Sheraton Vistana properties as a good family option as well. Hilton's Grand Vacation Club properties are also very nice.

We like the Hilton grand vacation clubs and the marriotts, there are always a few for rent on eBay although June 2014 is too far out at this point.

I would not book a timeshare through a travel agent.

Rather, if you want WBC, book through Vacation Upgrades or Vacation Strategies. Not sure about booking other places. You may also want to look into Windsor Hills. I have not heard the greatest things about the restaurants at WBC, however. I usually can get a full-size rental for a week for around $150 or less, so you may want to re-consider how many cars you want.

You also may want to consider getting at least one three bedroom. I wouldn't imagine the couple with three kids would want to be crammed into one of the bedrooms together, and putting the sofa bed together every night can be a pain. The three bedrooms at WBC don't usually cost much more than the 2 bedrooms.

Thank you all for the input! a 3 bedroom sounds like a good idea, for the family with 3 kids. Although they will be 6 4 and 2, a good idea so they can put the little guy down before the older girls, or whatever!

I am going to check out those other resorts listed as well.

June 2014 - when do you think we could book??
