We are looking to do 1 offsite dinner

a steak house/ type rest. or possibly something else.

We are looking to save a few bucks, and not spend disney prices for a sit down. IE 2 AD and 1-2 child meals less than 60-80$ total.

Open to something fun/unique. Not a long night ( like a pirate dinner as rest of night will be at DTD and it will take up night time fam fun/shopping.)

We have a car, but don't want to drive more than 8 miles at most, and I hate toll ways.. if at all possible..

Please sell me on where I should go :D

Are you looking for something unique to Orlando or any decent steakhouse? My recomendation always goes to Outback Steakhouse and there are several in the area, including one on Irlo Bronson right next to Giordanos.

Either really..

We have eaten at a pretty good one on iris Blvd, and we have eaten boring at sizzler too.

I am open to outback there blue cheese is delish!

Moving to the Orlando Attractions board as it is asking specifically for offsite restaurant recommendations.

I agree to go to Outback Steakhouse. We went to one near Grande Vista once for an early dinner, and it was very good (and a fraction of Disney pricing).

Longhornes is close and not bad. Close to the Queen of the Universe Shrine.

There are a lot of great options, but the 8 mile drive does limit you.

I have read some good reviews of Johnny's Hideaway which is in the Crossroads Center just across from the DTD hotels. I have not yet tried it (I keep meaning to but I know the next trip it won't happen so..)http://www.yelp.com/biz/johnnies-hideaway-orlando-2
Just saw your budget and this may be a bit over it, not sure...

Going a little farther down the food chain there is an Outback and a Longhorn steakhouse. Both over near the outlet mall. I ate at Longhorn after the marathon and thought it was outstanding, but I have to admit that I was so hungry that I probably would have thought anything was outstanding. :rotfl: So YMMV.

Another option that we like is O'Charley's IT's on Turkey Lake Road and while it's a chain it's more of a Southern chain. (The Fried Chicken salad is good and the rolls are AMAZING LOL!)

We ate at one on our last trip that had a budget meal price early evening. I am blanking on the name right now, but it was close to Blue Heron and CiCis Pizza. There were billboards all over the place!

What about Miller's Ale House? There are a number of them in the Orlando area. We went to the one down 192 near the Target and we were very impressed. We went for the Wednesday whole Maine Lobster special. My DH had a steak and he liked it. Personally, I don't think I would waste my time going to some chain that I here in my own city.

1.) Try Charlie's Steakhouse on 192 just East of I-4. They are supposed to be one of the country's top rated steakhouses.

2.) A truly awesome dining experience is the The Columbia in Celebration. You can make reservations online. I recommend dining on the patio and then taking a walk through downtown Celebration. It's beautiful.

That's the Santa Fe Cattle Co. We thought it was a good, great for families - plenty of food and bowls of peanuts on the tables. :thumbsup2 Its right next to Sheraton Vistana Resort.

There is a Logan Steakhouse that is 10 minutes from the Animal Kingdom Lodge. VERY easy to get to. If you are leaving the AKL turn right at the light for Sherberth Rd. Travel on Sherberth for less than 2 miles and you will come to a traffic light for 192 turn right onto 192 and the restaurant is about 1/2 mile down the road on the right side. We at there in Feb and they had 2 can eat for $20. The food was great and so was the wait staff!

It is so easy and close to the AKL.

It is also down by the Texas Roadhouse by Target that the PP mentioned.

So far this is the only veto... We ate there for sting bread . Waiter brought a white merlot? Dh got shrimp on his steak ... Allergy .. And they never brought my potatoe. Of the 15 in our group. I think 3 got all of the items and the right items . Food was ok.. Maybe just spring break and a new waiter but this one is a nooo way going back.

Many of us live in smaller towns that don't have many of the chains they have in FL at home. I know there are several chains that we love to eat at on vacation that we don't have at home. Fuddruckers in one we enjoy going to on vacation.

Well, that's a bummer :(.

I had been VERY anti-Miller's for years. I held a grudge for a waitress who asked my elderly stepfather if he needed change when he handed her $200 in cash for the $150ish bill. He didn't understand what she was asking so she romped off with almost a $50 tip. We asked the manager to have her come back to the table but she had mysteriously disappeared :rolleyes1.

Anyway, I went to a different one because I still couldn't bring myself to go back to the one on 536 (I believe they may be individually owned) and it was great. Our food was good and you really can't beat their Wednesday lobster special. I think it was $12.95 for a whole Maine lobster and a side. We too went over Spring Break.

I guess you're right. But Outback? It's in every state except Maine and the steak is only okay IMO. To each their own! I know that a restaurant won't last long in a place like Orlando if they don't attract customers :thumbsup2.

My DD1, gets car sick... and will just throw up.. it is ridiculous. She has since 3 days old. Doc says some kids don't like the car.. so Although 9 miles isn't off the chart (and in stone #, if there are 5 choices in the radias and 1 outside.. I am going inside), going on a 20 min drive will not make for a relaxing night. :crazy2:
