anyone ever stay in a condo or villa off property with an ecv?

how did it work out?

Did you have to take it out of your vehicle to charge it, or could you run an extension cord?

We are going to try exactley this in June 2009 and have a large electric wheelchair but are thinking of renting a smaller one so that we can break it down for daily use. My thought process is that if you have some patience and realize that the breaking down and putting together will take a few extra moments on arrival and departure than all should be well. We do not have room to carry every person and a wheelchair on a car trip 16 hours away so we thought why not just rent one that breaks down. As said before there is some info on the Disability board too.

I travel all over the country with my ECV. I suppose you could run an extension cord to your trunk to charge it if you wanted to. At least you could from a house-I don't know about a condo-it might be quite a distance from your rental unit to the car. But no, you don't have to take it out of the trunk to charge it.

You do need to consider the possibilty that someone might steal it if you leave the trunk unlocked to accommodate the extension cord.

We had an ECV for my MIL and stayed in a 2 bedroom condo offsite. We drove the EVC into the condo every night to plug it in, drove it back out to our rented SUV in the morning, dis-assembled it and and put it in the back of the SUV, and went to the parks where we re-assembled it. Once we became familiar with it, it took about 30 seconds to take apart and put it back together. I'd never feel comfortable leaving it in a car to charge overnight with an extension cord in a resort parking lot.
