Off site, small accommodation

I'd like to spend 6 weeks in Florida this winter, but can't afford to pay $100 a night. All I need is a studio apartment (or a non-smoking furnished room with kitchen privileges for one) in a safe area. All Star homes are all huge. Does anyone have any suggestions HOW I should start my search for small accommodations?

6 weeks in Florida for the winter..........sounds like my idea of heaven Start by searching for 'condos' rather than 'homes' or possibly you may find a townhome suitable. There are also a few rental sites specifically for condos and townhomes, thebigcondolist.com is worth a try. All their owners are verified before being allowed to advertise so at least this will be somewhere to start
