Off site restaurants near AKV

We've never been "past" AKL before. Just wondering if there are any good restaurants out that way instead of having to go all the way towards that shopping area near SSR. Disney dining is just getting too expensive, and we will actually have a car and our carseats this trip since we're going on a cruise after our stay.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is about a half mile away from Bronson Memorial Highway (R 192) which has all kinds of stores, restaurants, etc. all along there. There are probably more than 50 restaurants anywhere from 1/2 mile to 3 miles from AKL. Best thing to do is a google search using the following phrase: restaurants near disney's animal kingdom lodge

We just returned from AKV and ate most meals off-site. I agree with your assessment of the current food situation at WDW.

When you leave the resort, go to the first light (not far) at Sherberth Road and make a right. That road will take you to Hwy 192. There is almost every chain restaurant within 3 miles left or right of that location.
