I don't know if I'm in the right place, so please direct me if I'm not. I am looking to go to WDW Feb 6-13, 2010. We would like to stay in a vacation rental. 2 adults, 2 boys 12 & 14. I would like to stay 500.00 and under. I don't know that its realistic, but I have seen some 495.00 per week...e.t.c. I am skeptical...with a low rate would it be decent.. If anyone has any ideas or site I can look at please respond. I would really appreciate it.

GOIN TO DISNEY:yay:

You can probably get a condo or townhouse for around that much. Check out Encantada which is quite new. They have private splash or bigger pools with their townhouses. Have also read some good reviews from Grand Palms. Could possibly get a condo at Windsor Hills also.
Look around on vrbo.com and see what you can find and then post back after you've narrowed it down a bit and see if anyone has stayed there.

Encantada is #17 Grand Palms #184 These are only 10 minutes or so to Disney.
You may also be able to get a pool home further out in the Davenport area.

Thank you, I've done some research and my brain is so full:confused3
I checked in to value vacation rentals and came up with a couple ... # 9052
and #9085. Anyone know anything about these? Thanks again.

I couldn't find the first one. The second one looks nice enough. Based on similar rentals in that community that I found on www.vrbo.com, that is about the price you would expect to pay in this community. It also appears that this owner does this for a business and owns many vacation rentals. The good news about this, is that he likely knows what he is doing. I would still check the tax records once you have his name to see how long he has been doing this.

Have you asked for some specific quotes? That is the first step. Narrow down to 3-4 or 4-5 and then ask them for quotes including all taxes and fees, and pool heat if applicable. Also ask any other questions you were curious about. They will send you a quote and answer those questions. Based on the quote and interactions you have had with the owners, you can narrow it down further. You usually will get a good or bad vibe based on the interactions. Also take into consideration how they take payment. I personally don't mind paying by check, but some people only want to pay using a credit card and if that is important to you want to consider that.

If you decide you would like to find a house, the least expensive homes I have seen are in Lindfields. Good luck.

Thank you for your response. I did check VRBO.com and had requested info on #13071. Norman responded very quickly each time I've e-mailed him... within 5 mi on a couple of questions. His emails are written very nicely and he made sure to tell me not to give my credit card info on the computer. (I knew that, but glad he said it.)

Thanks again, Sheila

Some of these communities are a lot older than others so maybe more wear and tear on the condo/townhouse. Mango Key is one of the older ones. You could ask when the unit was last refurbished.
On that map it's just below Villas at Island Club #104 where Papaya Drive is.
Villa del Sol : go to marker #59 Burlington Coat Factory and follow Hoagland Blvd north to Tropical Isle Blvd. I don't really like this area but that's just me.

Thank you for the info...maybe you could suggest something else?? Trying to stay 500-600 dollars for 7 nights.

I will ask about the refurbishing and I wonder; could you tell me why you don't like this area?
