Off-site privialges(sp?)?

We thinking of staying off-site and I'm just wondering what the difference is when it comes to the PS's and restaurants.

You can still make a PS no matter where you stay. PS isn't a priviledge on or off site. You can still visit onsite restaurants even if you are not staying on one of Disney's properties, just tell them at the gate (if the restaurant is in a resort) of your PS
