Off Site Magic Band/Fast Pass +

We are planning a trip for June 2015 - Can someone direct me or give me a little info for the steps needed to link Magic Band/Fast Pass + when you are staying offsite? Do we buy tickets now and link them? I have been to Disney many times - it seems like more and more you have to "plan" your days before you go. No more winging it LOL.

I am trying to do exactly this - this weekend! I do not have actual tickets, I have vouchers, but I plan to buy magic bands and link them through My Disney Experience (that's a choice on the app/website).

I'm trying to figure out if I can buy them and link them before we go, or if I have to get the tickets first. I'll be following your thread to see if you get any good answers!

You link your ticket to your MDE and 30 days from your arrival you can make your FP+ selections.

We purchased tickets from Undercover Tourist, linked them to each person in My Disney Experience, and did fastpass plus at 30 days out. We flew into Orlando, and the Disney Store at the airport (it's called the earport!) had magic bands. They linked the bands to the tickets right there - super easy!
