I'm a single mom and my daughter and I are taking our first trip to Disneyland next Easter. Becuase its just the 2 of us the room doesn't have to be too big but what is a HUGE deal to my daughter (age 9) is the pool. She loves water slides and would love it if we could stay at the Disneyland Hotel for the Neverland pool but I don't think I can swing it. I figure I can squeeze out about $100/per night though so if anyone knows of another hotel around that rate (or less is always nice :) ) that has a waterslide plus close proximity to the park obviously, I'd appreciate it. If no waterslides how about just a really nice pool?

Also I realize this is really early planning but does anyone have a recommendation for Easter dinner? We'll have a car and be going to the services at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove so anywhere between Garden Grove and Anaheim would suit us.

If it's just the two of you, I would try priceline. Many people get 3* hotels, such as the Anaheim Marriott, and the Westcoast Anaheim for around $35 per night. I have no idea what the hotel pools are like, but many people have reported how nice both these hotels are. If you are interested in bidding on priceline you can do a search on this board for priceline. In a former post someone posted a link for the informed priceline bidding forum. ( I don't know how to do a link or I would provide it for you) This forum is a great informational tool if you are interested in bidding. They are also offering $5 per night bonus money thru a link at that site that will be added to your bid. Since it is a holiday I don't know how much availability there will be, but you could try and see. I have done several priceline bids recently and also bid in the Disneyland vicinity. I could not get the 3*'s because they were booked for a convention, so I bid for a 2.5* in the Disneyland area and got the Marriott Residence Inn for $33 plus the bonus money. This room listed for $94 on their website.

i LOVE the westcoast anaheim!!!!!!!! The pool is really nice....no slide, but has a deep end 10 ft deep that is awesome for jumping and diving. There is a nice pool bar there with lounge chairs. I did a review of this hotel a while back. If you search my name on the disneyland trip reports it will bring it up for you!!!!

Thanks for pointing out the trip report. Here's the link:

We're looking forward to our stay at the Westcoast Anaheim 10/15-10/19. I called to confirm the reservation placed by our TA and the staff there is very professional. They gladly accepted my request for a Resort view room. They said that the Disney guests are amost always provided a view room.

I'll be sure to post a report when we get back.

KC: nice Alice costume! That was my 4YODD's choice for Halloween this year. We're brining it along for photo ops...too bad the Alice ride and the Mad Tea Party are on the refurb schedule then.

I would recommend the Anaheim Sheraton. We have stayed here a few times. The hotel looks like a castle. It is really close to to DL and they have a really good shuttle that runs really often. We had a huge room with a patio on the ground floor so we could go out and enjoy the pool. The pool was quite large--I don't think the pool has a slide though. My kids had fun just swimming. I think you can get a room here for around $89/night. You might check into calling the DLH or PP directly--sometimes you can get better deals that way. PP is usually alittle cheaper and you can still use the pool and DLH & GC (I think!).

My husband does the priceline bidding thing all of time for business and it works great for him--I like to know what I am getting ahead of time though!

Good luck in your planning--have a good time!

I am happy to hear good things about the Anaheim Sheraton. I booked a concierge room for our April trip. I figure that the continental breakfast and evening snacks will come in handy.
