It's been a long while since I've been to Disney so I'm not sure if this processed has changed.

I have a breakfast buffet reservation at Boma. I know I can park at the resort for my reservation. What I am wondering is if there is a time limit on how long I can park. That day is my Animal Kingdom park day and I'm wondering if I need to move my car to the mass parking after I eat or not. I realize there is a $20 per day parking fee and I had planned to shuttle or Uber from offsite each day. Just not sure how to handle that particular day. Thanks!

3 hours. You will need to move your car to the AK lot.
Resort parking is neither intended for or large enough forThe e Park parking. It is for paying guests of that resort and those dining or shopping there.

Yes, I am aware that the resorts cannot accommodate everyone doing what I am asking and not trying to "get over" on anyone. But, many years ago when I went to the Beach Club for a breakfast, they gave me all day parking. I figured that was a fluke or had changed but I wanted to be sure for planning purposes.

For planning purposes, plan on moving your car. It is an easy drive and will be welcome at the end of your day

Just ask the guard at the gate when you get there.

I personally have never once been told of a 3 hour limit. Others have.

Best bet is to ask the guard at the date on that day.

And if they say three hours and you’ve already budgeted to park at the theme park, pay for valet there at AKL. It’s good all day and you can do what you please during the day.

Valet parking is $33. It would be cheaper to move the car and pay $20.

Parking at resorts for non-guests to go to theme parks has not been allowed for as long as I can remember. It was a fluke if a guard told you that you could do that. Due to AK restaurants being very popular to all guests and offsite guests, and parking there tight for Jambo House, dining guests should not be allowed to leave cars behind unless they pay for Valet.

Parking at AK is $22 for regular parking, $45 for preferred. At the end of the day you will appreciate your car being available to you without walking to the bus depot, waiting for the bus and coming back to another walk to your car. I would just plan on eating and getting straight over to the park - it would be the most convenient option, particularly for getting back to your resort at the end of the day.

But it could be a convenience with paying for, depending on the OP’s perception.

We were staying onsite and paid for valet before breakfast at The Wave because it was a fine price to pay to head straight over to MK instead of wasting time moving the car. Park closed around midnight, car was brought to us quickly after we walked back to contemporary, lovely.

It’s one thing at the Contemporary where you can walk to Magic Kingdom. It’s another at AK where you’d have to catch a bus, wait for the second stop (I assume breakfast is at Jambo House), hike to the main entrance, and wait for a valet to pull up your car. The only reason to leave the car at AKL would be to avoid the parking fee.

For the OP: the official rule is up to 3 hours while you’re at the resort. You might get some “pixie dust” if you ask permission at security. If you had both a breakfast and dinner reservation at the lodge, I bet they’d say “sure, park all day.” But with just breakfast, expect to move your car. It will be much more convenient, too.

Thanks for all the advice. My son has the reservations on him, but we actually *might* be at Sanaa in the evening, so that might be something to think about asking the guard.

On the other hand, if it's not allowed, there is a lot of car moving going on here. Not sure what's the best way to plan out that day. The most important thing to my son (this is his trip basically) is to see the Avatar stuff. This was a last minute type trip so we haven't even gotten fast passes reserved yet. I'm think the AKL food ressies might be a drag on the touring. He'll be home in a few hours so I can get more details. Anyway, I think it's best to plan that we will only be allowed short time intervals to park at AKL. It could be better just to forget the car entirely and just Uber to where he needs to be.

When you leave for the day, you'd need to get a bus back to the AKL to get back to your car. It might be quicker to just park at the theme park and head right to your car when you leave the park. Especially if there is any kind of line at the AKL bus stop.
