For those of you who stay off site, what kind of FP+ availability are you finding when you are able to go in an book? I'm guessing not quite as open as those who are staying on property and have earlier access to book FP+, but I can't think it's completely closed up either, even for some of the more popular ride options.
Thank you.

I am sorry to tell you this, but you are mistaken. It definitely is closed up to some of the more popular ride options at 30 days out. More than likely you will not get mine train or FoP. Likely others also. That being said, by refreshing you may be able to get those rides down the line. Don’t give up hope if you don’t get everything you want at your 30 day window.

I can only share my experience with AK and MK, but besides the headliners (FoP and 7DMT) everything else was available - most in the morning or early afternoon. I was even able to refresh and move a couple things to earlier times that morning. I looked at the Touring Plans list of available FPs when I woke up (it runs at like 1-2 a.m. each morning) to have a good idea of what would be available and the times. This helped me formulate a plan in terms of FPs and RD. Good luck!

ETA: I was booking for March 22 & 26, so right in the heart of Spring Break - you may find better availability if you're going after the SB rush...

We were able to get everything we wanted at 30 days in early December except FoP and 7DMT, but we were able to get FP+ for both of those on the days we were in those parks, with some MDE refreshing. There were just two of us, which helps.

I’m a local and at 30 days out for Studios when booking fairly recently no tier 1s

some rides had a few 8 am hour spots but then nothing till later in the day

ended up with a 130 ToT, 315 star tours then with some app pounding at 29 days I got a 430 TSM

fwiw it was for the week of at least Polk County’s break (and if I end up being scheduled to work I’ll toss them back into the FP+ pool)

7DMT and FoP are almost never available at 30 days. Na’vi, Frozen, and Peter Pan are frequently unavailable or only late times are available. At Epcot, tier 1’s tend to be p.m. only. HS tiers just changed again, but so far no tier 1’s (Smuggler’s Run, Slinky Dog, and the about to open MMRR) have been available at 30 days; sometimes not even at 60 days.

So yeah, it really stinks to be a local or offsite visitor. Same day fp is always a possibility, but unlikely for many of these. Also check the evening before as many people change plans then and drop fp.

Make a daily habit of going into the app and looking at least 2 times a day. You might get lucky. People change FP+ all the time.

The time of your trip will play a role in the availability. If you’re going at Thanksgiving, the availability will be much lower than if you’re going in early September.

That said, there are lots of popular rides available at 30 days. PP are right that the big headliners are probably not available, but everything else should be. In MK, you probably won’t get PPF or 7DMT, but you should be fine with all three mountains and everything else. At tiered parks, you might not find much for the tier 1, but tier 2 should be there.

That doesn’t mean you won’t get tier 1 FP, though.

As @Miffy says, there can be better FP availability closer to the date. At 30 days out, people aren’t modifying their plans much, so even if you’re not excited about the selection, don’t despair. Start looking seriously about a week before because 5 days out is the last day to cancel room-only reservation, so you'll see some openings. The night before and day of, you’ll see even more because people will be actively modifying their plans.

It seems counterintuitive that the day you’re in the park would have better availability than a month before, but people often pick up great same-day FP.

Haven't stayed offsite for FP yet, but there was one trip that we booked the whole trip within the 60 day window. Like at 40 days or something, and at that time, all the headliners were gone, and even the non-headliners 'good' times were gone. Most of the ones we could get were right in the middle of the day, and being it was Aug, the hottest part of the day. Basically in the 2 PM - 6PM kind of range. I assume offsiters basically end up with similar results.

I'd just like to stress that you have to keep trying. If you're 30 days out, just spend like 2 minutes a couple of times a day trying to get the hard-to-get FP+s. And especially 5 days ahead of your check-in devote more than a couple minutes to it.

Also--this is not ficiton--I regularly score FoP FP+s the day of, right while I'm in the park. Once, when standing in the FP+ line inside at FoP, waiting to get a seat assignment, we got FP+s for FoP for 15 minutes later. All this while people were standing in a 2-hour-plus standby line outside.

It can be done.
