Off-site eating?

We always make a trip to Logan's Roadhouse. It's a typical steakhouse chain, nothing fancy, but we've always been happy with the food and service.

Pop out the Osceola Parkway East exit, go over 4, and take a right at Gaylord Palms onto International Drive South. Go under 417, and Logans is on the left at the next corner at 192.
Going back, if you take 192, there's a Publix on the left, at WaterTower Place that's pretty new (it used to be right behind Logan's). You can pick up some basic groceries there to help lower the food costs a bit by eating breakfasts in your room, or out by the pool.

... Someone mentioned Golden Corral. We ate at the one on SR 535 the first week of December this year and would have to say it was probably the worst GC we have ever been in. ...
I'll agree with that - the one on Irlo Bronson is a lot better.

We always make a visit to Millers Ale House. There is one in Kissimmee and one near the DTD exit from property.
We were just there and we LOVED Millers Ale House (it is family friendly - the name is a little misleading). Both of my kids liked the food there better than anything we had on-site, both sit down and counter service. We wish we had something like that close to our home! I highly recommend it.

We ate at Miller's Ale House for the first time on our last trip. (We actually ate there twice!) We all loved it and thought it was a good value.

We're fans of Hungry Howies Pizza (some locations are take out only).

One suggestion I have which is something we do every time we go...it is kind of fast food... we call Cici's Pizza and order a few large pizzas to go. They have large one topping pizzas for $5 each. It is way cheaper to get the pizzas to go because if you eat in and have the buffet it is 7 dollars plus 2 for the drink. If you get it to go you can get enough pizzas to feed 6 ppl for about 15 dollars.

There is also Chili's over near Cici's where adults can eat for around $10 per person unless you get Fajitas or Steak or something.

IHOP for dinner can cost around $7 or $8 per person and not fast food.

UNO's pizza has good food and should cost around $10 per person to eat there.

You can eat a TS breakfast at Kona cafe at the Poly for pretty cheap. Around $11 per person for their biggest food platter.

If you like pizza, Flippers (one in the Crossroads shopping plaza, another in the Rolling Oaks plaza off 192) is the best in Orlando.

I would also suggest Sweet Tomatoes! There's one in the same two shopping centers.

Thank you so much everyone for all your suggestions! I'll forward this thread to my DM (who's managing the money and food). Keep 'em coming! :goodvibes

Another vote for Flippers. And they can deliver to Disney World. Look for their website for more details but if you call the location you think is the one who delivers to Disney World and that one doesn't, they will give you the location and number of the one that will deliver. We've done this many times (fan of the pies) and had great results.

To save money, we brought a cooler backpack and brought in our lunch, we had snack and sandwiches. It was great to eat while waiting in line, saved us some money. Also the meals are big in disney, so we shared our dinners worked great at the more expensive restaurants.

If you head towards Animal Kingdom Lodge and turn left onto Sherberth Road, you'll get to the 192 where you can find Cracker Barrel, Bahama Breeze, Panera Bread, Chick fil A, Carraba's, and other standard fast food places. There's a Menchie's froyo in front of Target where they have Dole Whip!

This! :thumbsup2

Once we discovered R192 it was great! Now we always go there to shop and dine. Lots of choices and not nearly as much congestion as S535 which much of the time can be like a parking lot. Plus there are liquor stores, Super Target, Publix, and other shopping as well which allows you to buy room provisions at regular prices.

PUBLIX subs!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love the subs from publix. Especially an ultimate on five grain. I usually get a whole, eat half, and save the other half for later. Can't beat an awesome $3 meal. And while you're there you can get some cereal, etc for breakfast and/ or pick up some snacks for the day.

Now that I get live in Ohio and not in Florida anymore, I miss publix a lot. Not as much as the weather and ocean, but close. I even have my parents ship me publix five grain bread on occasion.

Oh, and as far as value in the parks. A pizza in via Napoli in italy can feed all 5 of us, and we like to eat.

We like going to different pancake places for breakfast (can't remember the one by Walgreen's just outside DTD) and Olive Garden and always enjoy the various CS places especially in AK (i.e. Flame Tree Barbeque) which fill even our biggest appetites at prices not more than here at home.

We've budgeted for two full dinners in the parks for two birthdays we're celebrating, and one of those is at Via Napoli. I've eaten there just once before and I can't wait to share it with my family! And you're telling me-- A personal sized pizza could easily feed my family of four. All of us eat like birds. ;)

I loved your suggestion of Publix subs, too!

We were down last weekend and ate at Cici's Pizza buffet. I googled Orlando Cicis coupon and found a BOGO. we paid $12 total for 2 buffets and 2 drinks. Great deal! There are tons of locations in the area.
