My family consists of me, dh, ds (8), ds (6), ds (3), dd (1). We are renting a vacation home and will be spending 5 days in Orlando. We are on a budget and basically will only be doing 1 Disney Park during our stay. That's over $200 for one visit to one park. Alot of $$ for us. But I do know that you don't have to spend alot of money to have a good time, especially with kids! What are some other off-site attractions that are suitable for children in our age range? I looked into Gatorland and we will probably go there. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure are approximately half the price. For $200 you can get 2 days at those parks....

Also look into hotels that include breakfasts and bargains in off season to reduce costs.

There is (was) a nice petting zoo down from Disney which my kids liked (If you're AAA members, look in the Florida Tour Book). Orlando also has a nice kid's discovery museum. Have you been to Kennedy Space Center?

Well I would suggest Discovery Cove, it is expensive, but they do have a seven day FREE pass to Seaworld with it...

USF/IOA is less money and a lot of fun.

Do you have to pay to go to the beach? We have beach tags in NJ.

Heres another thought... Orlando Flex Tickets.. for one price you get USF/IOA/Seaworld/WetnWild/and for additional Busch Gardens. I have seen the flex tickets come in two ways, a seven day, and a 14 day. (You do have to pay for parking though!)

Try these(all on US192):

- Watermania - Great water park for the fraction of the cost of a Disney water park and a fraction of the crowds.

- Old Town - Very interesting place to walk around and kids will love it.

- Splendid China - Very unique Asian experience. Good place to spend an evening.

- Go-kart racing - They are littered all over US192 and they are tons of fun

- Mini golf - Some of the most original mini golf places are in Florida!

Hope this helps!
