Off-site 2-bedroom hotel recommendation

We are frequent visitors and almost always stay off-site in a rental condo or house. We have a trip planned for late March (for the DIS/GKTW event). I'm really not confident that the event will actually happen due to COVID so I'm hesitant to book a rental property that doesn't allow last minute cancellations. Many are posting that you have to cancel 2 weeks or a month in advance. That's no good.

So I'm thinking about doing a hotel instead with a 24 or 48-hour cancellation policy. We'd likely know well before then that we aren't going but I don't want to take any chances.

We want 2 actual bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. A timeshare unit would be fine as long as they have the cancellation policy (and we aren't required to attend a sales pitch). We stayed at one of the Marriott properties once (Cypress Harbor maybe) and it was very nice, so that's definitely a consideration.

Also, we are Marriott Bonvoy members so would prefer something in the Marriott family as we could earn and/or use points.

ETA: Price wise, looking for $150 range. Definitely under $200.

Any suggestions?

Have you checked Wyndham Bonnett Creek?
I just looked. WAY more than we want to spend. A 2-br would be around $400/night there. I guess I should have specified cost in my post. I'd want to be under about $150 ideally. Definitely under $200.

That's if you book directly. Check out the WBC thread; I believe if you rent from an owner, you can get it around $200/night.

Try the Towneplace Suites at Flamingo Crossings. They have 2 bedroom suites and a pretty flexible cancellation policy.

Check ...

HI StayBridge Suites outside of Disney Springs. Two bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. Living room. Kitchen.

Hilton Homewood Suites. There are several. Two bed two bath, living room and modified kitchens, stove and micro but no oven, full fridge and dishwasher.

PreCovid they had breakfast included, Homewood does dinner and beer/wine.

I really like the Marriott Residence Inn SeaWorld. They have rates for $192 (20% off if you stay three nights or more) with a cancelation policy of one day in advance or you loose one night's fee. They renovated the property just two or three years ago and I think they did a really nice job. They include breakfast (which was quite good), have a restaurant/bar onsite, a nice pool area with palm trees, nice loungers, and a big hot tub. It's my go to place in Orlando when I am doing a hotel stay instead of renting a timeshare condo which as you have alluded too (renting from an owner typically doesn't have the flexible cancellation policies). Here is a link to their website: https://www.marriott.com/reservation/rateListMenu.mi?defaultTab=dealsAndPackages. I stayed here for a few nights last February before a cruise out of Port Canaveral.

Cypress Pointe is a nice timeshare resort right by downtown Disney that does per night rentals too (both with restrictions cheaper and with a great cancelation policy). They have a refundable rate of about $180 a night for a two bedroom/two bath. Their two bedrooms have a king in one bedroom and just a double in the other bedroom. The lovely living room / dining area has a hydabed too. Sometimes I get the three bedroom/three bath for more beds, but for your dates the flexible rates on that are around $243, more than you'd like to spend. A timeshare has the benefit of more space, super nice spacious living room / dining room area, washer/dryer, bigger kitchen, balcony, all that. I have found this timeshare resort to be one of the best for retail rentals for a decent price for the quality you get. It's also actually walking distance to a few restaurants, etc. -- a little bit of a hike, but you can walk. https://www.cypresspointeresorthote...r-gmb-listing&utm_content=gmb-listing_weblink. I did a retail rental here last Christmas.

I've actually stayed at both of these numerous times over the years and highly recommend both.

Prices at WBC have been taking a beating. Look on eBay for some of the deals there.
I don't want to go through a private party, though, if their cancellation policy isn't good. That's why I'm looking for a hotel and not a VRBO rental like we usually do.

Do hotels actually have suites that 2 bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen though? Maybe 2 bedrooms and a living room, but a kitchen? Other than an Extended Stay location?

I understand. You might take a look at the extraholidays.com website, which you can sometimes find pretty good deals with a cancelation policy.

Certainly. A lot of places do, like Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, etc.

Just like disneysteve said, these have gotten to be a popular hotel option and there are a lot of these options in the Orlando market. Here is an example of the 2 bedroom / 2 bath layout / mini little living room - dining room and kitchen at the Marriot Residence Inn SeaWorld: Suites with Full Kitchens | Residence Inn Orlando at SeaWorld® (marriott.com) -- Kitchen is small, but will have full sized frig, oven, microwave, your pans - small appliances, dishwasher, sink, etc.

The timeshare condos are going to be more spacious with more features, but these hotel options serve their purpose and are very comfortable for a family on vacation plus have things like a buffet breakfast included, nice restaurant onsite, and the all important super flexible/super easy last minute cancelation policy (a few of the timeshare condos do retail rentals with that too).

I just looked under Diamondresortsandhotels. and checked a couple random dates end of March. I looked at the AAA rate for a 2 bedroom is $143 (before tax) just say no thanks to the timeshare speech - and that is refundable up until a day before. Just make sure you go with the AAA rate as the others can be non-refundable. That is why I always choose it as my plans change so much. We really like it there also, very convenient. Or Cypress Pointe - same complex - but no elevators. Good Luck

There's a Marriot Residence Inn in Lake Buena Vista. We've stayed there and we like it. You don't have to go on the expressway to get to the Disney parks. Also, I believe it's a little closer than the SeaWorld location to Disney.

There are AAA and senior discounts available, too.
