Off Property Laundry Question

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this but I will ask anyway. The last couple of times we have stayed on property we have used the laundry facilities at the hotel. We have not been thrilled with the capacity of the washers and we had to dry everything twice which took up a great deal of time. Does anyone know of an off property laundry-mat that has bundle service? :confused3 Any information would be a great help.

I too feel your pain, however, I am stuck with doing the laundry at the hotel since we don't have a car. Laundry service prices through the hotel is ridiculous. I wish they did provide a "bundle" service. I swear those dryers are set on low because I too have to run them twice and even break it up between 2 dryers to try to get the job done faster.

This is probably a stupid question but is there a service that would come and pick up the laundry and do it for me:confused3 :wizard:

I'm sure there are laundromats, but I don't know where they are.

I don't use the washers/dryers at Disney (or anywhere else), but I did go to the laundromat a lot when I was younger and they seem to be pretty standard.

Cheapo washers do not get clothes as clean as the ones you might buy yourself. You can wash something 3 times in them and it just won't get that stain out...then you put it in a good washer and Voila! Stain is gone. But they do a decent enough job for typical washing.

If you sweat a lot in the clothes, I'd wash them twice and dry them 2 or 3 times on a lower setting. The "hot" setting on commercial dryers can scald your clothes...you get these yellow/brown burn stains on them that cannot be removed.

So, the laundry facilities in the hotels will surely be as good as any laundromat, but the laundromat (with all its washers and dryers) will probably be faster.

You can send the clothes out to be professionally laundered through the hotel or a laundromat, but they may also shrink the clothes or damage them (buttons missing, bra hooks bent, color changes, etc.)

Good luck! (bump)

Not sure where you went to the laundry, but I can tell you that at the laundromats my family owned those were NOT "cheapo" washers LOL! They were Maytags etc. We found it better to buy quality. Lasted longer, needed less maintenance. I did Bundle service for years and we never had a problem with the washers not cleaing clothing.

Now the problem is that most "bundle" service laundromats now are in the "non tourist' sections of town where people can't afford to own washers and dryers (we got out of the business about 20 years ago, not making any money)

(APT laundromats do use "el cheapo" washers!)

If you go to YellowPages.com type in Laundromat and Lake Buena Vista you get a bunch of options. Some of them seem pretty far away, but you might find one that would work.

Another option you have is to rent a condo/townhome/villa that has a full size washer & dryer instead of staying at a hotel :goodvibes
