I had read about "Waggin’ Trails Dog Park" - a new off leash area for dogs. Does this area already exist? If so, what is it like and does anyone have pictures?

It does exist, it is a large fenced in area with some benches and picnic tables and drink fountains for the dogs.

Thanks for the info 2goofycampers. I got curious and went to Google Earth. Is loop 300 Cypress Knee Circle? If so, where exactly is the dog park located on this map link?

Hope this helps.....

Somebody said something NICE about me!!!!!

Someone had a nice picture of the dog park and for the life of me I couldn't find it but I know it was on here somewhere because it was the first time I was able to see the park.

Does anyone know where it's posted, is it under the picture of the day ?:confused3

Hey- I thought someone would have posted some photos by now.

These aren't the best to show the whole lay-out, but they should give you an idea:

It is a pretty good sized area- I would say maybe a 1/2 acre?

It is fenced. There are a few trees, and picnic tables, and a bench for the humans.

There is a water dispenser, and poop bags.

Everything you need.

Have fun.

We took our dog to it over Memorial Day Weekend and he had never been to an off leash park so he didn't know how to act when I disconnected his leash! I don't think he has ever met another dog when he wasn't on leash so he was intimidated, but he made a buddy that he liked hanging with when the other dogs got too intense for him.

Maybe he will react differently over the week of the 4th.

BTW, there are automatic water stations about every 25' or so along the fence so there is water handy at all times. There is a hose for rinsing off dogs that might get muddy or dirty or just too hot. The entrance is double gated so you don't have to worry about a dog running out past a dog and owner entering. The fence is 4' tall so larger dogs might be able to leap over it if they are prone to chasing after bikes or cars or golf carts or buses as the park is directly next to the road and there is a sidewalk on the opposite side of the road. There is a rise or knoll in the park (yes, a grassy knoll!) that can limit your sight line that runs the length of the park along the long axis so this is also something to keep in mind when taking-in the lay of the land.
