I have seen on a number of different posts that people are excited about Off Kilter. I am not familiar with this and would like more information. ( What it is? Where it is? ) Perhpas this is one of those things to add to my Be-Sure-To-Do list for our trip. TIA

It's a singing group from Canada that plays on a regular basis at the Canadian Pavilion in Epcot...We always stop and listen to them when we are in Epcot and my husband has many of their CD's. They play outside in a covered kinda pavilion with some benches. They are very good, kind of folkish music and some songs include bagpipe music. The fans of this group probably are middle aged.

Thanks for the info. I origianlly thought it was a comedy show or somethng. We will look for them when we are in EPCOT then. Thanks.

As LindaDe said, they are a band that plays in Epcot's Canada pavillion. Off Kilter plays Celtic rock music, and are very entertaining to watch. Make sure to check out their schedule at pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares

Enjoy!

I have a not-so-great video of them from when I was at EPCOT on Sunday:

They were pretty cool. :thumbsup2

Off Kilter is THE reason I go to WDW!     I make sure to see/dance to every one of their sets
This week they're playing today then Wed thru Sat 230 330 530 630 730 (and I'll be there in 48 hrs!)
They usually have Mon & Tues off

They play opposite British Invasion (Beatles music in UK) so one can keep going back n forth btwn both groups all afternoon/night Fri-Sun
BI usually has Wed & Thurs off

They're not from Canada, but from all over. They perform between Great Britian and Canada.

The band consists of Jamie Holton from Ormond Beach, Florida on bagpipes, penny whistle and vocals; Mark Weldon from Cork, Ireland on bass and vocals; Randy Holbrook from Richmond, Kentucky on guitar and vocals; Tony Escapa from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on keyboards and vocals; and Scott Zymowski from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on drums and vocals.

Jamie Holton: Piper, singer, co-founder of Off Kilter. Began playing bagpipes at age 11. Winner of several piping competitions. Formerly worked at Rosie O'Grady's in downtown Orlando. Began working for Disney at age 20.

Mark Weldon: Bass player, singer, and co-founder of Off Kilter. Native of Cork City, Ireland. Toured with many bands in Ireland.

Scott Zymowski: Drummer. Native Floridian. Began playing for pay at age 13.

Tony Escapa: Keyboards. Born and raised in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Studied at Inter-American University and Berklee College of Music in Boston. Headed his own band called "EscapeFM" which toured Europe before his work at Disney.

Randy Holbrook: Lead guitar. Began playing guitar at age 9. Played in "Liberty and Justice" in 1995, and at Disney's Pleasure Island in a group called "Frankie and The West End Boys".

DEFINITELY stop by and see Off Kilter, they are our favorite act in EPCOT. A few years ago when I was still single, my best friend and I bought their CD and had an opportunity to have the band sigh it. They are the nicest guys and their music is great. :yay: :dance3:

Also, try not to miss one of the street performances, especially the one in the UK about King Arthur. There is lots of crowd interaction and it is hysterical!

Have a great trip! :cool2:

and at Disney's Pleasure Island in a group called "Frankie and The West End Boys".

I used to love that band - still love Off Kilter. It's right between the UK and Canada beer kiosks which makes it hard for me to make a decision!

They are great and a definite must do!! They're a celtic rock band and they are loads of fun! Oh, and they wear kilts ;)

They are great! I miss seeing them at our city's Irish Festival, but at least I can see them at Epcot. Make sure you see them and the candy lady in Japan. They are my two must sees for Epcot. :thumbsup2

Off-topic, sort of, but Frankie and the West End Boys will be playing on the Waterfront Stage for Pleasure Island's final night next Saturday.

Back on topic, Off Kilter is my favorite of the various World Showcase acts, and always puts on a killer show. Their CDs and the various youtube videos--although good--just don't capture the energy and charisma they exude live.
