I am planning our trip next year to BWV and would like to know the number of preferred 1 bdr. rooms versus the number of 1bdr. standard rooms. Points aside, is there a big difference?

Can't help with exact numbers - maybe someone else can. I do know that standard view rooms make up approximately 20% of the total BWV rooms

There is no difference in the rooms - except for the view and the cost.

IMHO, standard view rooms are a huge bargain! Many DVC members agree - standard view rooms are tough to get unless you are a BWV owner and take advantage of the 11 month booking window. During popular times, many of us call day by day to make sure we get our standard view.

Best wishes -

<font face="times" size="+0">I believe the approximate breakdown of BWV units is:

Dedicated Studios 15 SV + 22 BWV + 60 PGV = 97 Total
Dedicated 1 Bdrm 23 SV + 15 BWV + 92 PGV = 130 Total
Lockoff 2 Bdrm 37 SV + 19 BWV + 93 PGV = 149 Total
Grand Villas all 7 are BWV

383 Units. 532 Max Available Rooms.

SV = Standard View
BWV = Boardwalk View
PGV = Pool/Garden View

This data may be outdated though. I haven't looked at the lastest BWV POS. Also MS refuses to provide exact number breakdowns of the SV and BWV rooms. They only give percentages, and the above numbers are what I calculated based on those percentages.

HI can i just say in my opinion the preferred wasn't worth the extra points , we stayed in 1bd sv and overlooked the pond and grass area at the front of the hotel, no noise and lovely area, this year we took a pv studio just to the side of the boardwalk and we didn't get a single nights undisturbed sleep, the noise from people was fine during day and early evening but at around 4 am the maintenance crew would be lugging trolleys across the stone area, leaf blowers would start around 7 am it seemed to be never ending i thought the windows would be pretty sound proof but it was as noisy as if we had them open, don't get me wrong the room and location was lovely but when i go again i'll forsake the view and save the points.
