Oh wii, oh wii where can you be?
I've searched for you high and low.
It seems to be a mystery..
Where have you gone? Nobody knows!

Toys R Us, GameStop, and Best Buy
All of these stores are out.
When I go to the stores, I cry and cry
"When will they be in stock?" I shout!

To all of you who have a wii..
I envy.
And maybe one day I will come to see
How this little white box makes you so happy :)

The End. :sad1:

Awww good luck finding one. I was lucky when we got ours. I had no intention of buying one. We are not really video game people. I kept reading how impossible they were to find over on the budget board. I was in Walmart buying a DVD and there was a big stack of them just sitting there. :rotfl: So I bought one (just because of reading they were hard to find.)

couple hints..

1. If you see the Wii in the Sunday ad at Toys R Us, then they will have them in stock on Sunday morning. Go about a hour before they open and wait in line outside the store. You won't be alone. ;) I got mine on the first try that way and it was a Toys R Us employee who suggested it.

2. If you happen to be IN Toys R Us, ask at the electronics counter when they expect their next shipment-or call and ask. They're usually GREAT at letting you know when they expect more.

3. Now that the holidays are over, sales will be slowing and you'll be more likely to find one!!

I'm loving the ode. ;)

Aw, I saw the thread title and thought maybe you'd found one.

I know it's frustrating when you're looking for one and can't find one anywhere! Hopefully, most retailers will start stocking them again soon, now that the holiday rush is over.

Definitely keep an eye on the Sunday ads and keep using wiialerts.com. Fingers crossed you get one soon!

You know what? I found one, a Wii Bundle with Mario Bros. But I don't want Mario Bros...I was sooo tempted to buy it anyway (online, ToysRUs), but to pay an extra $100 for a bundle I don't want made no sense.

I also found WiiFit in Target...one left. I was going to buy that, too, anticipating the time when I actually get a system...but that's just stoopid, to buy the game before I have the system! So, I passed.

I really can't afford all this obsession right now. I should just wait, and not buy into the hype.

Wii watch, day 10

I found out from an employee at Gamestop that they expect a shipment in around the 15th. This means I will be stalking them starting around the 12th. I also found out from my HORRIBLE experience at Toys R Us on Sunday that when they advertise in their circular that you have to get to the store at opening, get a ticket, and get in there quickly because they only get 10 in at a time. I also have DBF's cousin who works at Best Buy on the lookout for me there too. Seems Best Buy hasn't had any in since late November or so. On wii alerts.com today newegg had a wii bundle for $500 which included 5 extra games. But as Mindy stated above it really is dumb to buy the bundle when you have no interest in the games that come with it..

This has now become more of a "I want this system". This has become an obsession.

Stay tuned..

I had no idea they were still so hard to find. I'm pretty sure our local GameStop had them on 12/27 when we were in there.

I'm sure they will be available soon.

Wii watch - day 11

I got an alert on my cell last nite from wiialerts that walmart.com had some wii's available. I checked but the website said they didn't...I got the alert at 7:20 but didn't see it until 8:00...I am wondering if they sold out that quickly..going to stalk Gamestop again today. I know they said Jan 15th, but I don't trust all their employees there.

Does anyone else get the sense that some of these store employees buy the systems and then sell them at a higher price on ebay and craigslist to make money??:confused3

The obsession continues..

Erica...do you have a Fry's Electronics in your area? I've often seen them at our local Fry's...

Good luck!!

No Fry's Electronics here... :sad2: Thanks for the info though!

I got my Wii by signing up for email alerts when online stores had them in stock. Paid regular retail price from Amazon, and was able to do the same when Wii Fit was released, too. Totally worth it.

The tracking site I used was now in stock dot net (I'm a newbie, or I'd post a link)
If you're able to check emails often, this is definitely the way to get a no-stress, no-package Wii.

Good luck!

Thanks! I'm signed up at wiialerts.com but I will check out that site too :thumbsup2

Good luck finding a Wii. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding one in a couple of months. There was just an increase in demand due to Christmas. And if you aren't fortunate enough to find one, don't get too upset. I have both the Xbox 360 and Wii and the Xbox is a far superior system. Once the novelty of the motion sensoring wears off, you realize that it's barely a "next gen" system. The graphics are sub par at best and there have not been that many titles that really take advantage of the motion control. Wii Sports is probably the best one, and it comes free with the system. My kids do love it though. Plenty of "kiddie games" like Mario and such.

The key with the alerts is to have accounts already set in the different websites you are watching. I lost a few times while creating accounts before checkout.

In Sunday's Wal mart add they had the Wii and in fine print stated at least 3 per store. We drove down there and they had plenty in stock. Had to go to Best Buy and got the last Wii fit. There was a local store that had the base consol for 350, I'm glad we waited.

I played the Wii with my young cousins ages 4 and 8 when they got it from Santa on Christmas, and my god, I can't believe how much fun I had! I'm usually not that into video games, so I reluctantly agreed to play just for a little while cause they were so excited about it. I ended up playing for four hours. Mario Kart is so much fun! I love the Disney Sing It as well, and I don't even listen to Miley, The Cheetah Girls, Jonas Brothers, etc... but the game is so much fun!

As for finding one, check your local Blockbusters. I know some people who work there, and they have a hard time selling systems and such sometimes.

Yeah our Walmart has been sold out for months...they had it online but by the time I got to the site they were sold out...they sold out in 20 minutes.

Yes we have been calling all the Blockbusters in our area and they don't have them either. Thanks for the advice. We aren't video game people but wii is sooo much fun!!!:)

Wii watch - day 13

So I called Gamestop this morning and the guy sort of told me they may be getting some in today at 12pm. He said to call him back at that time. I am hoping he is right...because I really really want this thing already!!!

I didn't get any wii alerts yesterday after getting 3 texts on Tuesday. Of course they sell out online in 20 minutes so by the time I was able to get to a computer after I got the texts they were sold out.

I will update all later...

SOOOOOOOOOOOO...I'm sure you can tell by my updated title that I finally snagged a wii. It was the weirdest thing. I went on to Walmart.com to check (yet again) to see if they were available and my timing must have been perfect because they were! Two seconds after I ordered it I got a wii alert on my phone. I'm really glad I stayed persistent and got one!

Now I just have to wait until next week when it arrives :woohoo:
