Odds of Waitlist for DL?

It is looking like our trip to DW might not be as practical this go round and we have never done DL. What are the chances of getting GCV at the end of June? We are looking for eight nights and all of it would have to be waitlisted at this point.

Trying to decided before I change everything up for our current ressies at DW. I know having points that have to be used is a good thing but it is really difficult when there are only about 4 weeks that I can do this time....

I'd have a back up reservation just in case the waitlist doesn't come thru...but many people change plans...keep checking on it & sending you pixie dust

Never say never, but I think the odds are against you. Summer is one of the busiest times at DL.

Have you thought about using points at the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier? You would have to pay the $95 fee as they are not DVC resorts, and it would be a regular hotel room as opposed to a villa, but at least you can use your points and stay on property. I would highly recommend the Disneyland Hotel. It is filled with Disney touches and recently had an extensive makeover.

They might have changed very recently, but PPH and DLH in the past have NOT required the $95 fee.

But once you use your points to book one of them, you cannot cancel and use those points towards a villa. They change from one sort of point to the other (vacation points to reservation points? something like that?) and can then ONLY be used towards things that use that sort of points.

So if you're going to book PPH or DLH, give up completely on the waitlist, because you can't use those points towards the villas at that point.


I believe it's June that Carsland will be opening, by the way, so it's going to be extra packed with excited people!

Just wanted to point out that I don't think this is an option if OP is using resale points (post doesn't indicate) since these hotels are part of the Disney collection.
