When the two new ships are released, will there be a possibility of cruises back to Hawaii. I would like this to occur. I really am waiting and anticipating new info on the new ships. Here's what I'm hoping DCL will do in 2023

Magic- stay Caribbean, go NOWHERE ELSE.

Wonder- Hawaii Mid September - May with random Mexican Rivera, Panama Canal and stuff like that. June, July, early September could be Alaskan.

Dream- Carrieban/ Bahamas every month but April and May. That's when European and transatlantic cruises occur.

Fantasy- All Caribbean.

#5 All Caribbean

#6 new destination? I feel like with 6 ships Disney will do something different.

Is this list possible. Possible things I missed? Thanks.

Hawaii hasn't been a big seller for DCL. If they made money they'd send the Wonder there every year. The two new ships will probably do the Caribbean because that's DCL's bread and butter.

I wonder if it had to do with not making them round trip cruises. We would have liked to do it a second time, but didn't want to deal with the cost of a flight to or from Hawaii. We got exrtemly lucky to get a room on the first cruise to Hawaii, surprised the others didn't sell well.

Cruiselines put their best ships in the Caribbean. It's a family market. Big ships with the bells and whistles sell to the family market. The older ships do the best and most unique itineraries. I could see the Fantasy going to Europe or elsewhere. My bet is we see the next new ship taking over the Fantasys routes.
Sorry but the magic is not going to able to compete with the Horizon, Escape, Symphony, Bliss and all the other new mega ships sailing out of Florida.
I would like to see the Wonder stay on the West Coast with more cruises to Hawaii.
How many more years does the magic have left?

I could see 15-25. Only thing that will cause earlier is certain maritime laws. They are getting strict on old ships.

The Magic is 23 years old. I wonder how many years she has left. She still looks pretty good, but I'm sure at some time she'll have to put out to pasture.

I wonder, too. We LOVED the first round trip cruise but the one way just does not interest us.

That's the first I hear of this rumor. Has there been any interesting port sightings? Or is ist more wishful thinking?

The only rumor I saw here was a poster or two speculating. I haven't seen anything else. But you know once it's on here it's gospel. :P

I have been eagerly waiting to see if Disney would go back to
Hawaii. This was by far our favorite cruise.

However my heart sank when i boarded the ship and looked around.
I knew looking at the lack of people that Disney wouldn't be back for
a while. It was still a great cruise...almost felt adults only i saw so
few kids. I hope they go back in summer so more families can come.
The Sept one sure was awesome though.

Rumor has been fall 2018 will be a Hawaii sailing. We will see in May.

I'd love to go back to Hawaii in 2018. It will be our 40th and we went there for our 30th and renewed our vows. Always said I wanted to go back for a 40th. I'd prefer a one-way sailing -- otherwise too many days at sea. I'd love to fly over and spend a few days then get on the ship and sail home. Fingers crossed.

That's why I was asking. I love good rumors and have done my share of looking for hints. BUT I don't like how people just speculate and then others think it is a rumor that is based on some factual base and then are disappointed.

The Wonder makes a whole lot more money in Alaska during the summer than Hawaii would. Also, Hawaii is hot and sticky during the summer -- wouldn't it be nice if DCL kept the Wonder on the west coast doing Mexican Riviera cruises during the fall, then sailed to Hawaii over Christmas? No doubt they'd charge an arm and a leg, but December in Hawaii is amazing.

Speaking of rumors -- when we were on the inaugural Hawaiian cruise, there was a bus driver on one of the shore excursions who told us that DCL was planning to do two Hawaiian cruises per month. Yeah, right.

I just hope one of the ships comes to Los Angeles permanently. It was very nice to just drive 10 minutes to the port when we did the Hawaii cruise on the Wonder.

I felt the same way. The ship was so empty. I remember walking around on the top deck in the late evening and there were a handful of people out there. From what I remember, when they gave us the fact paper at the end of the cruise, I think there were only about 2000 guests onboard.

We did the October 2012 Hawaiian cruise in addition to the September 2015 one way from Honolulu to Vancouver. I didn't feel like the ship was that empty with the exception of children. We stayed at Aulani pre-cruse and the resort was full of cruisers. There were 3 or 4 bus loads who purchased transportation from the resort to the port. I can see them going back to Hawaii because it was great for Aulani. If they stay with the every three year plan it would be do to go back in 2018. With the big push to sell DVC at that resort I am hopefully the Wonder makes another visit because we will be the first to sign up for another cruise!
