Odd question

Does anyone still travel with actual 35mm film anymore? Thinking of taking an old SLR with me this year and wondering what you have to do with it when traveling by airplane and do you have to develop it before flying home or cam exposed film go through the scanners?

I've sent film through the airport scanners with no issues. But if you really want to "do it the right way" they make special bags for it. you can get them at B&H.

I don't travel with a 35mm too often but I do take my medium format toys with me quite a bit. And I'm trying to find a way to pack my 4x5 in the car to do some landscape shooting along the way, but it's so big I'm not sure I'll be able to.

Film at 800 ISO and under is fine going through the scanners. Above 800 you'll want to be examined by a TSA agent.

I traveled many many many times with film in the past and I never had an issue, but I also never shot with above 800 when I went on trips.

Thanks for the info, I will more, thank likely be shooting 400 so should be safe letting it go through the scanner without a protective bag.
