Odd question about WDW rental strollers...

I plan to rent a double stroller for DD and DS. Both kids have medical issues that makes them prone to overheating, dehydrating, breathing problems, etc and DD can not walk for long periods of time due to overheating issues and weakness. (I explain all of this in case anyone wonders why I would get a stroller for a 5 and 7 y/o!)

Anyway, because of the overheating/dehydration issue, my DD carries a hydration backpack when we are out and about. I was hoping to hang it from the stroller and feed the tubing down to her so she would have the tube nearby but the actualy backpack would be out of her way. The only way I could think of to do this was to put an "S hook" on the stroller handle and hang the pack from the hook. But, I don't know what size hook to buy!

Does anyone have a reasonable idea as to what the circumference of the stroller handle is? Or, does anyone know of any other way to suspend something from the stroller?

Does it have to be a S hook? Can you use a strap, buckle or velcro?
THen with differing size strollers/handles, the parks have it wont be an issue.

What about one of those "D" hook caribiners? They come in various sizes and are relatively cheap. I have seen some that are really big and can be used to carry your grocery bags too. I think they run around $5.00.

There is a mesh pocket on the back of the stroller. Depending on how long the hydration tube is, I think you could just pop in in that pocket and run the tube down to her that way.

I would bring along your S hook, or maybe a large carabiner, Home depot has some really big ones.

Another thing that may work are the the velcro straps used for holding electrical cords together. I use them for lots of things, they are cheap and light to carry.

Have you checked the DisAbilities board here for information on a Guest Assistance Card? My sil has MS and can't regulate her body temp, the GAC allowed her to take her kids to Disney where otherwise she would not have been able to do it.

If you don't plan to carry the backpack into queues, I would suggest a plastic wire tie. You would have to carry a small pair of scissors with you to cut it off at the end of the day (a child's rounded-tip pair might be best). But, it might help keep it from "growing legs" and walking away while you are on a ride.

You can get them at Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Burlington Coat Factory and I am sure many more places. They just started making one in a purple and green.

But the thing is you can use either hook and they are both different sizes. Hope this help. Also, I have friends that have found the same kind of thing, but instead of hooks on both ends, one is a velcro adjustable loop so they fit any size bar.

When we were down there a few weeks ago, I tied my tote to the stroller handle with a red bandana. It held the bag and made the stroller easy to find in the crowd.
