odd FP question

I booked a trip March 4-11 and then found out there's a good chance we can't go that week. So I booked another trip for March 11-18. I kept the first one just in case. I will find out for sure in about 2 weeks which trip we will keep and cancel the other one. So my FP window for the first trip was this week and I made all of my selections. Then I started to worry about how that will work and if I will have any problems when my window opens up for the later date trip (which is most likely the one we will be going on). So I went on MDE to play around and it looks like I can actually go ahead and select FP for the 11-18 (even though I'm not yet at 60 days for that one). I'm confused because they are booked as two completely separate trips. Is this just a glitch in the system? I'm afraid if I booked them now it would cause a problem when I cancel the first trip. Also, I'm not completely ready with my plan for that week anyway. Does anyone have an answer to this?

Two consecutive onsite stays linked to only one MDE keep the booking window open.

So what will happen when I cancel one of the trips? Will all of the FP disappear? I'm tempted to go ahead and cancel the first trip now before my true 60 day window opens for the second just to be safe. I really would rather go the first dates though so don't want to cancel until I'm certain.

No, FPs don't disappear as long as you have valid ticket entitlements linked in your MDE. If Stay #2 is a package, there's your tickets. :)

Wow, it seems like cheating the system. I don't plan on making them until the true 60 days but I am surprised it's possible! Thanks for the info, I will try not to stress about running into any problems next Tuesday at 7am:)

If I were you, I'd book them now. :)

That's the perk of having consecutive stays plus valid tickets! Split Stays are described in the FP FAQ.

Lol, I was just starting to research those threads, I've never really looked at them before. Thank you!!!
