Whats the weather like in Florida in October? checking yahoo weather and it says highs should be around 85 and lows around 65 but i would prefer to here it from people who have visited in October.

Thanks in advance.

i have been twice in october normally the last week or two and i have found it to be hot, normally in the high 80s in the day and about 70 at night,it is a lovely time to go very little rain ,the crowds have slightly thinned out,and you have halloween nights and the epcot food and wine festival,i am going whitsun this year for a week and i believe it is going to be painfully hot (ouch)
hope you have a great time(dont forget your sun cream) :cool1: :hourglass

I have been in July, August, September and October but my favourite was October. It takes a little longer to warm up in the mornings but after that its great. Not much rain, hot but not too hot. We are also trying May this year :sunny:

October is a great month to go - as the others have said, it's still really warm but not unbearable, and the crowds are not as bad as some other months. We go every November (normally the first two weeks) when, touch wood, the weather is normally settled and warm, and we have been in October which was very similar. They tend to have very little rain also - particularly compared to late summer / September. Just the early mornings and evenings can be cool.

I think you've picked a good time to go!

Hiya,

I went to first 2 weeks in Oct '02 and it was perfect.

It only rained twice the whole time. Temps were lovely and warm with a def' need for suncream, but werent sweltering at all. Crowds were also fairly low.

October has been our favourtie time to go. Working in a school now means our 18/19 days in Florida are during the summer hols now, else we'd be going again.

In the three times I've been in October, we've had very little rain, but down on the gulf coast we've had some cracking storms in the evenings, spectacular, but very little rain with them.

All the decorations are out for Halloween - it's such a fun occasion over there. And then of course there are all the Halloween parties in the parks. MNSSHP is brilliant, so too is Busch Gardens party :cool1:

Like others have said, the temps are way in the 80s, but sometimes the mornings (early) can be a little chilly, but if you're up and about after 9am, it's soon warmed up :sunny:

Enjoy - you will :cheer2:

Ditto to the others comments, love going in october and MNSSHP is GREAT :)

Sounds great, the last few years we have been visiting Florida during July/August because me and my brother have been at school but this year we finally have chance to visit in October so im just hoping the weather is nice and the crowds are low.

We went to Florida the first 3 weeks in October 2004. It was hot :sunny: but not too hot and we never needed the cardigans and jackets we took with us not even at night. A lovely bareable tmeperature. We only had one day of torrential rain :umbrella: so we just went shopping - no hardship there. We loved October in Orlando so much we're going again this October. :cheer2:

Sounds like I chose the right month then. It seems like crowds were fairly low, weather was a nice in between, room rates are low and I get to experience MNSSHP. How will I get through 18 months? :Pinkbounc

BTW, does UK half-term holiday affect crowds or can WDW absorb them well?

Many thanks,
Claire

You definitely hear more UK accents around the parks, but I think UK visitors are still a drop in the ocean compared to the numbers from the US.

Regarding weather conditions in October - we've been to Florida in January, February, March, April, October, November and December and, based on our experiences, October wins hands down for us :sunny: Maybe we've been lucky but, whenever we've been ther in October it's been warm to very warm during the days, staying warm enough to sit out in tee shirt and shorts right through the evenings. Although March/April has been just as nice during the day we found the evenings got quite chilly much earlier on.

Ive been getting a bit confused because some people have been saying its not chilly at all in October and others are saying it gets cold during the mornings and at night, ive checked various weather statistic sites and it says the lowest it goes during October is 65, now if anyone says thats cold/chilly or whatever they seriously have to be joking - Its 65 here in London today with a chilly breeze and im still wearing shorts and T-shirt quite comfortably.

Just my opinion..

I wore t shirts with short/no sleeves during daytime and night time and never felt cold. The only time I could've done with a cardigan was in Don Pablos one evening as they had the air conditioning cranked to the max. :rotfl:

i was in wdw october 04 most evenings the weather was fine but on three of the evenings the weather was in the 50s and it was cold.but we were not prepared and had shorts on.if i was going again in october i would pack a pair of jeans, jumper, pair of socks, and closed in shoes just in case you may not need them but best to have them just in case.you can always wear them on the flight home.

Sorry can I just add to my earlier post. There had been thunder storms forecast whilst we were in Orlando and the day we went to Universal Studios we were queueing for Shrek 4d and all of a sudden the heavens opened and torrential rain, :umbrella: luckily we were undercover but we were thinking we would have to buy ponchos. The rain was really bouncing off the ground (in Scotland we would say stoatting down). Well we went into Shrek 4d and when we came out it had stopped raining and the sun came out and another glorious day. :sunny: It really was amazing to see it change so drastically so quickly.
