My dh and I and 13 year old dd plan to hit Epcot F&W sometime in October for the first time this fall! We have been to Disney many times but never in the fall. We are really flexible on dates since dd is homeschooled and I'm wondering if the weather is a lot different toward the beginning of October versus the end. Specifically, I am concerned about rain :)
We were thinking either October 5th week or the week of the 27th. Thoughts? Anyone who has gone in October with first hand experience?

Many thanks ahead of time!

We went on Oct 10 a few years ago. There was very little rain, but it was REALLY hot and humid. Apparently, that year they set records since it isn't usually that hot. Some days topping out at over 100.

Seems hit or miss. IMO i always go in with the mindset: it's Florida. It will probably be hot, and hope for the best!

We've been to Disney for the past three Octobers and it's never rained during any of our trips. Temperatures have varied...it's been in the 90s (which was terrible) and down into the 60s (which was awesome). Later in the month will give you a better likelihood for cooler temperatures. It's humid no matter what, but again, more tolerable toward the end of the month. Crowds are lower later in the month, so my vote would be for the week of 27th.

I live in South Florida. October in Florida is still summer. Once in a while we will get a cooler day towards the end of October. Plan on it being hot, but bring a sweater just in case.

It can be hot in October, beginning and end. Last October, we were 85 or so on Halloween. There were a few days in the lower 90s during the month. Mid 60s for lows.

Last October was really dry. In fact, I don't remember it raining at all the whole month. But usually, October is the beginning of the "dry" season, so it's not as bad as the middle of summer.

I love October in Orlando. Cause unless we get a late tropical storm system, it's a great time.

Over the past 4 years, we've spent about 30 days at WDW during the month of October (plus a couple of days in late September.

It was always sunny and warm but not too unbearable. We had 2 heavy rains storms and a few sprinkles on about 3 days. The rest of the time there was no rain whatsoever that we noticed.

We were there Oct. 19-25 last year and not a drop of rain. However, it was HOT/HUMID except the last 2 days, then the dew points dropped and it was warm and beautiful.

I would not hesitate to go again in late October! :thumbsup2

Last year was hot on Halloween...and I decided to wear a costume! It was brutal, even after sundown, and I'm from Tennessee, so I'm no stranger to hot. I have been once before in October, and the weather was beautiful and there was no rain at all. Overall, it's definitely my favorite time to go.

So funny, because we were there 19th-26th and I don't recall it being it being overly hot and humid. Of course, our basis for comparison was the prior year's trip, when temps were in the high 80s and 90s all week and we were ready to die by the end of the trip. :rotfl2:

I was there this past October from the 5th-12th. It was HOT, 80s every day. It rained pretty bad one day, but not a drop any of the other days. It remained hot at night, only one night did I wish I brought a sweatshirt with me because it felt a little cool.

We were there from the 1st to the 7th. The rain was on the 7th. We were at MK and got soaked running from the Dumbo tent to Big Top Souvenirs.

I went the last week of October 3 or 4 years ago. It was still pretty warm. Crowds were not bad.

We were there the first week of October last year and thought it was great. Get to the parks at rope drop, enjoy it until around lunch, head back to the hotel to relax, then off to Epcot for F&W each night. I didn't really notice it being that hot to be honest.

We've been at various times throughout the month of October and it is hotter and rainier in the beginning of the month than at the end. Last year we went over Columbus Day Weekend and it was still pretty warm (mid 80's during the day) but we lucked out and had no rain. We've also been the 23rd-30th and we only had a brief rain shower in the morning one day, but other than that the weather was perfect (high 70's and sunny!) I never find the crowds overwhelming in October (other than a Epcot for the F&WF on the weekends), so anytime during the month is a great time to go!

Not sure myself but we'll be coming then too. Here's hoping for dry and comfortable weather. fingers crossed. :goodvibes

Thank you all so much for your responses!

I am leaning towards later in the month now, knowing there are no guarantees with the weather :)
The reason I thought of the first week is that my birthday is the 6th and that would be cool be spend my actual birthday there. Good weather trumps the actual day every time for me though :thumbsup2

We were there last week in October and the first week in November this past year. The weather was great. One day of light rain in our entire 11 nights. Temps were warm but not too hot. We had days in the 80's and 70's. One day might have been in the 90's. evenings were PERFECT!!! :cloud9:
