I know this has been asked because I searched last night...but today, search is giving me fits...

Anyway. We are changing our plans from a cruise to a wdw trip. We want to go in October 2007. The only weather we have to compare with it June 2005 and it was blistering hot.

The dates we are looking at are September 29-October 5 OR October 8-14. In your opinions which is better?

When you say hot and crowded, how hot and crowded is that compared to the first week of June?

Thank you all so much..sorry for the redundant question

There is no doubt that June will ALWAYS be hotter than October. Even if we have a heatwave in October (which does happen). the sun is still much stronger in June. It can still be hot in early Oct. but nothing like June. I won't even go in June anymore!

We do enjoy going in October but of course there's always that chance there could be something tropical brewing. The later in October the more chances of cooler weather. Crowdwise it will probably be busier in mid-October because of Columbus Day. Many people take off to WDW during this week, some schools have some sort of "fall" break (how nice that must be, LOL!) that week.

Last year when we vacated our home to escape the aftermath of Wilma we stayed in WDW for a week and most our stay the weather was perfect, a little rain, but not much and definitely not blistering hot. This was the later part of the month. We've also been there mid October the year before and it was actually chilly our whole stay, but we kinda enjoyed it! It can be a "mixed bag" .

We like the F&W Festival and from experience the weather has always been more comfortable. Even if it's hotter than normal it usually cools down somewhat at night or in the mornings (unlike the summer months when it's hot anytime of the day).

Due to school schedules we have been visiting in June the last few years. It beats August, but not by much (weatherwise) :sad2: . We made a quick visit in early November this year and while the temps were 80's-range, the humidity was pretty high. Even with that, October would definitely be my choice.....I am not a fan of high temps AND humidity. The parks were moderately crowded in November, but not uncomfortably so. I would gladly avoid summer if I could (and we've snuck in some mid-winter trips here and there). Early May is my favorite time to visit.

I think the later you go in October the better. The weather that time of year is very nice for the parks and the crowds aren't excruciating. October (the later the better) wins hands over any time in June between the heat and crowds. :thumbsup2
