We are planning on taking a couple of nieces to WDW in October. Both will be 13. We do not know the exact dates they will have a break yet so we have not made any ressies. We are hoping for five days and four nights. What are our chances of getting a 1BR at either the BWV or BCV at this late date?

It is hard to guess this as attendance seems to be improving this year, but based on our experince last year, you might find that it will work out for you. We booked a 5-night Sunday through Thursday night stay for the first week of the Food and Wine Fest last year at BCV, a 1BR, with no trouble at all. That was the third week in Oct. I think we made the ressie in July or August.

You might want to try to make your best guess as to the dates (maybe based on last year's school calendar?) and book something now, being sure to change as needed as soon as you know. Definately finalize the details well over 30 days before you go.

I don't think you will have a problem. We just booked 8 nights in a 1BR at BWV for late Sept - early Oct. All of the standard BWV rooms will be gone but the preferred view rooms should be available. Good luck!

Stay away from Columbus Week and you should not have a problem.

The FUNAI/Disney Golf Classic will be held on the Palm and Magnolia courses October 20 - 26. May draw a crowd.

The closer the BCV get to selling out, the more difficult it may get to book a reservation. :smooth:

I booked a studio in Aug last year at BCV. The Sept time frame isn't a good judge though because of Food and Wine that starts mid Oct-mid Nov. We're going Halloween weekend for Food and Wine this year but booked that several months ago in a 1 BR this time. BCV is popular because of it's proximity to EPCOT, too far to stunble back anywhere else or get on the wrong bus:D .

Why don't you have one of your neice's parents give the school a call and ask about the date's of next year's break. My daughters school has the whole year's calendar of the following year already made up and it is handed out in month of march. So I have had next years school calendar for a couple of months already!

I'm not sure. We are currently waitlisted for either a BCV or BWV studio from Oct. 18-26. We have been on the waitlist for a week and a half or so. I'm trying to be optimistic but the waiting is hard! Oct. 18th is the first day of the F&W Fest and lots of people like to go then. Of course everybody wants to stay at the Epcot resorts during this time too. When I called there was no availability at that time for either studios or 1 bedrooms at either resort.

I would guess that your nieces' break would be earlier Oct. or mid October so you may have a much better chance with lighter crowds then. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
