October trip

I am thinking of planning a trip in October. I seem to remember there was one week where it was crowded because Utah schools were out. Anyone remember when that is? I prefer to avoid crowds.

It changes yearly but for the 2008-2009 school year Utah's fall break is October 16 and 17. Yes, lots of Utahans go to Disneyland for this break.

I've heard though, that October is becoming more and more busy during October, regarldess of Utah crowds.

We've gone twice now in October (2005 & 2007) and it sure was busy. We also happened to have planned our trip on the anaheim gay days weekend so it was super busy. This year, gay days are Oct 3-5.

Don't forget Columbus Day is Oct 13 this year.

October has become a very crowded month. Between all the halloween decorations, Gay Days, Columbus Day, the halloween parties they have over at DCA, and all the school in various areas out for fall break, it can be awfully crowded. Our last 2 days of our trip last Oct was so crowded it wasn't even worth it. We ended up spending more time in or our hotel then we did the parks. Wall to wall people and huge lines. Way worse then any trip we've had in June. As much as I LOVE the October decorations, we won't be doing Oct again. We also like to avoid the crowds.

I am planning for a trip from around the 19th to the 22nd or 23rd. Hopefully it won't be too bad then. I am hoping to do the Halloween party on the 19th at least I am hoping there will be one then. Its hard to plan a trip so far out. I should just hold my horses and wait till this summer to nail everything down.

Our most crowded trip ever was the 3rd week in Aug 06. It seemed busier to me then Spring break of 04.

I'm not too sure when they'll annouce this year's dates or when they'll go on sale. But last year's Mickey's Halloween Treat were only on Thursdays and Fridays, except for the 30th & 31st.

We've gone during the off-season and during summer. It just seems to me that there really isn't an off season anymore. We're gonna suck it up this year and go the tail end of summer where at least park hours are extended. We'll also reinvest in ridemax as well to make the most of it.

Wow, this shocks me! We went Oct 2005 and the crowds were very good during the week. Weekends were busy but we expect that anytime we go. Have the crowds really gotten that bad in the last couple of years? We are planning another trip the week of Halloween. Is the first part of Nov. any better since the Halloween parties are over?

The year before last we went in October to go to MHT and I was hoping to do so again, since we got AP's in december, just looking for the least crowded time in October to go.
