Finalized everything for our trip in October. HI is on fall break so family of four will be there from 10/1-10/4.

Looking for suggestions on the following:

1. Staying at Red Lion Hotel....I know the ART stops right in front but it's the last stop on the route and could be crowded....is the walk to the Toy Story lot safe/long? Anyone stay at the Red Lion recently?

2. We are doing the Halloween Party on 10/2....we are planning on DL early in the morning....take a break after lunch...then head back to the party...should we skip the parks in the morning...I want to make use of our hopper but don't want the kids to be tired for the HP.....

Still waiting for hours to be released!!

Any suggestions would be helpful!!! Aloha!!!

Awesome!!! Congrats on your trip. Honestly the best bet if staying at a "Good Neighbor Hotel", is to choose one across the street. Saves time instead of taking the ART transit, however most of the "hotel/motel" aren't as luxurious then one that's further out; theirs a sacrifice to be made. One that is closer, yet familiar to Red Lion is Hotel Menage, they share that same contemporary look. Yet Hotel Menage is a tad closer.

Question 2:
Preferably for me and my family we like to hit the parks as soon as they open, up until 1pm, then get some lunch. After, head back to the hotel for some rest. Wake up at 5:30, get everyone ready for more action at 6:30 or 7pm. That way we can stay up until midnight if possible. Some people can just rush all the way to from morning to night, I can't do that..So the rest really helps!!!!

Also Mahalo from Oahu

We'll be there the following week and also at the Red Lion. I've never stayed there but have at the Hilton and Marriott nearby. I'm hoping the Toy Story lot tram is a good option, since it's free and the ART can be a bother. I'd much rather be at say the Tropicana for the location but I waited too long to book and those ones are full.

Did you find a good rate for the Red Lion?

I haven't done the Halloween party and probably won't this trip, so I can't help you much there. We have a 'fireworks view' room so that might be a good night for us to watch from the room.
