Good afternoon!

Every year for the past 4 years, my family has gone to Disney from the Sunday after Thanksgiving through that next week. It's always beautiful because of the Christmas displays, and the crowds are few.

We were thinking of switching to September or October this year to spend Thanksgiving with a different side of the family. Will we be totally disappointed because it is not as pretty and the crowds are heavier?

We first added a "Christmas" visit in addition to our regular summer visits in early Dec, 2000. We LOVED it!!! We love the Candlelight Processional, as well as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!!! And the decorations around the parks and hotels - awesome!!!!! (we've been back every year since - except 2003)

In 2003, we decided to try Mickey's Halloween Party, and let my DD go trick or treating at Disney!!! We had a great time!!! We went the week of Columbus Day! We did not find it crowded at all! DD loved trick or treating at Magic Kingdom!!! (Of course, when Dec came around, we were sorry not to be able to see our usual Disney Christmas!!)

Anyway, although we had a great time in October, we prefer the "Christmas" events. We were back this past Dec - and tried the Carriage Ride at Wilderness Lodge for the first time - it was great!

Enjoy your trip!!!!!

I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go in October. We have gone the first week of October for the last few years, and the crowds are not bad at all. You will enjoy MNSSHP, and don't forget the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.
