October Travel Dates Recommendations

Hi Everyone,

My family will be visiting Disney this October, however, we're having a hard time picking the dates.

We are trying to decide between 10/3 through 10/11 and 10/10 through 10/18. Our only concerns are the weather and crowds.

The rain patterns dip sharply through October, so the later in the month you go, the less chance of rain. However, the second week includes Columbus Day Weekend, which I'm sure would result in an increase in crowds. And yes, I'm not a fan of FP+

Any experiences or recommendations to share?

We visit every October albeit it's always the last week. I wouldn't rely heavily on historical weather data when picking dates as it can change in the blink of an eye. We've had beautiful, sunny, no rain to be seen trips and we've had overcast, chilly, hours long torrential downpour trips.

Crowd levels will see an uptick on/around Columbus Day because kids are out of school and given the dates I'd probably opt for the first week (10-3-11).

As in the PP I too wouldn't rely to heavily on past weather report for previous years. We have a saying in Canada, wait 20 min. and the weather will change.

So just be prepared for that eventuality when packing.

As for the crowds, the earlier in the month the better, since the crowds during Columbus weekend will increase. Furthermore, people tend to arrive later through the month to experience the MNSSHP adding more traffic at the parks.
