A friend of mine is planning a trip to Disneyworld Oct 2nd 2009, my question to all DisneyPhiles out there is "are the parks quiet during this period or busy?" Let me just thank all who answer in advance for I ahve to go to work in a few hours so I may not get your replies in time.:goodvibes :thumbsup2

October used to be one of the slowest times of all, but that's not so true these days. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parties and the International Food and Wine Festival have both increased in popularity. Having said that, it's still a great time to go (not least for those events). The weather is usually good and the crowd levels will be very manageable compared with the peak periods.

We went towards the end of October last year - although not heaving some rides did go to 60 minute waits at times. There were a lot of us Brits over there as one lady said from the USA :)

We go most years at this time and we think its just great weather is good, parks are busy but not unbearably so,we didn't have to que to long for rides as we always use fast pass where we can. Get fast pass then go and do something else till time comes round honestly its not that bad. Some Scottish schools are off but English & some Scottish are not, maybe later in October it would be worse, when most schools are off.

We went 3rd October last year and it was lovely, the weather is still nice and warm but not humid. The days are slighty shorter, I think it got dark around 7.30ish.
We made fairly early starts (not quite rope-drop but still early) and hardly queued for anything. We even got into some nice restaurants without ADR's. We didn't do MNSSHP but we did find evenings in the MK were busier due to the less frequent Wishes and Spectromagic - when they were on, it was busy.
Food and Wine festrival makes EPCOT busy during evenings and weekends, but we tend to avoid parks at weekends anyway - preferring to use this time to swim and shop.
I wouldn't hesitate to go back at this time (if the school would allow it :lmao: )
Hope this helps.

Thank you all very much. I will pass this information onto my friend and hope he has the same fun as you all have. Again thank you all.
:thumbsup2
