October Minivan Rentals - Why so high?!?!

So we finally found cheap airfare and were pricing minivan rentals for Oct. 7 to 17 and the prices are crazy high! They are at least $650, which is close to the price we would pay to fly 5 people to MCO. What the heck?! We can't have anything smaller because we will be hauling 7 people around in our group and really don't want to pay parking and hassle with having two vehicles.

Actually tried this code out of curiosity and got a great rate for August but it requires credit card information in advance which I have no intention of giving. The small prints indicates that even if you pay at counter, $200 min is charged as a hold fee at time of booking.

Same here, so I rented the SUV instead. Same rate, no credit card required to book.

I need a minivan for Oct 1-10 because there is 6 of us, but as of right now we are sticking with 2 midsize because of price. We were going to rent a minivan and a compact (my mom is going with us and needs her independence), but I'm holding out to see if the prices go down closer to our dates.
