Does anyone know if the PGA golf tournament in Oct. has a big impact on park crowds? I can't find the dates for the tourn. for 2005, but it's been the same week for the last three years, the week we are going. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks!

Lisa:

The FUNAI Golf Classic is October 18-24 this year.

Last year the golf classic was October 20-26. We were in WDW October 18-25 and the crowd level was higher than we were used to. However, we had never been to WDW that late in October before so I don't have anything to compare to (we usually went in early or mid October). I'm sure the Food & Wine Festival, MNSSHP and the Fairytale Package had alot to do with the crowd level.

We are returning October 22-29 this year and we can't wait!

Thanks Debbie!

We will be going Oct. 19-24 (Wed. to Mon.) in 2005, so I'm assuming that the Tourn. will probably be that week again. Our last trip we had higher than expected crowds because of Veteran's Day, Jersey Week and Super Soap weekend, so I will just plan for it to be busier and we will go from there.
If anyone else has any experience with this I'd love to hear about it! :D

i had asked about this on a post a while back. were going 10/20-10/27 and a couple people posted that the golf tourney doesnt really make an impact on the crowds, but that the deluxe resorts might be a bit busier.

Thanks te2077 -- we will make our reservations sooner than planned then!

The question was asked whether the resorts book up faster during the October Golf Tournament. I can vouch for that. When I tried to book two rooms at the concierge level at AKL, I couldn't do it. All the rooms had already been reserved during that time. Thus, we had to settle for two rooms at the concierge level at the WL. Now, I have just received information that two rooms at the concierge level at the AKL have just opened up, so we'll back to the AKL for our vacation in October.
