October Escape Weddings

Hello everyone.

Can any of you ladies tell me if October is a particularly busy time for weddings? Did anyone getting married in October have any trouble getting the day, time, and location of their choosing? TIA

October is one of DFTW's busiest months, unfortunately, but as long as you can be flexible with the date, location and/or time of your ceremony, you should be OK.

Crap! Really?!?!? Cause I wanted our VR in Oct...why is this such a busy time for weddings? Does F&WF have anything to do with it?

You know me....I would be more flexible with date than time and place.

I know when we were booking, we were told how surprised they were that the 10am slot for the wedding pavilion was still open @ about 7 months out. It was very unusual - especially it being a Saturday

Not to mention as we get closer and I'm emailing my planner about this or that, I'm always getting an out of office reply - but thankfully he's on top of it and still gets to my emails super quick.

If my first chosen date is booked will they can oh, but it's available the day after that or something like that?

I definitely think Food and Wine has something to do with it, plus the nicer weather, plus it doesn't conflict with the holidays but it's close to them.

I don't think Canada Terrace is one of the more popular Escape options, but, yeah, if you can give them a choice of days that would work for you, that'll help. Glad you liked the book!

It has been a huge help. We are in the very early stages of planning and are looking to shoot for an October 2015 Escape wedding. We both have young daughters from previous marriages and both feel strongly that this isn't just about the two of us it is about the four of us combining our families into one and want it to be special for them too so we are planning honeymoon/family vacation at WDW.

I would really like to rent DVC points to get a one bedroom villa so we have a bit of privacy for our honeymoon so I have been perusing the DVC boards and was getting a big worried that since I need to rent DVC points 11 months out but can't book an Escape wedding until 8 months out that I may end up with a DVC reservation and no wedding availability.

Yeah, I can see how that would be nervewracking. But if you have 2 or 3 different days you'd be willing to do the event, I think you'll be OK.

Excellent, thank you. I am hoping for about a ten day trip total so as long as the ceremony is in the first three or four days of the trip I would pretty much be happy.
