October Entertainment really that sparse?

I was looking at the Sept. schedule and then the October schedule and it goes from many parades, etc. a day to almost none. I know that they rein in the entertainment in October, but does it really drop that much? We were there in November last year and there was more going on!

Anyone know if this is normal for October or that maybe they haven't updated the schedule fully? Is there a way to check previous year's schedules?

Here is Oct 1 schedule -
http://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendar/#/default/2012/10/01
Soundsational, Jedi Training Academy and Laughing Stock Co. for DL
WOC, DJ's Dance and Drive and Aladdin for DCA

We're going Sept 29-Oct 3 and I'm wondering the same thing. Tonnes of stuff in Sept, then.....zip. My logical side tells me to just wait it out and it will get added. Maybe if a few things were missing or there were a few less shows per day it would make sense, but I can't see them suddenly canceling almost everything. :confused3
Hopefully someone with a little more experience with the calendars will chime in and give us a better idea.

October is off season entertainment wise. That means things like fireworks and F! are only on the weekends. And with the Halloween party, that means only on Sat and Sun.
One of the benefits of off season is less crowds (though Halloween is not as un-crowded as it used to be) the trade off is less entertainment.

True that there is less entertainment option but I'm pretty sure they will update their schedule soon fore more entertainment like the Pixar Play Parade which is not scheduled yet for October...

We were there the middle of last October and there were no fireworks or Fantasmic except on Saturday and Sunday. The DL parade was every day however, I think even twice but that is just going off my fuzzy memory.

WOC was every night at DCA, but because of construction, the other entertainment was hit or miss.

That's what I'm hoping for! My DD is a major Disney Jr. fan and loves that show. I hope she gets to see it.

I was mainly hoping for the Pixar Play Parade and Disney Junior Live.

Yeah, me too. We'll be there that first week of October, and I'm surprised at how sparse the entertainment schedule is. I noticed, though, that's it's just as sparse on Oct 5 & 6 (Saturday & Sunday), so I'm thinking they just haven't gotten around to updating the schedule yet. I sure hope so, or I'm going to be stuck trying to cram in a WHOLE lot of entertainment on our first day there on Sunday.

We will be there Oct 5 through 12 so I am really hoping! We missed the play parade last year and the kids adored disney junior live. I am also hoping that phineas and ferb will be playing now that dd is reallyinto them!

i was hoping thursday like last year would have F but for some reason this year its not on the sceduel id love to see it set up and there the 4th thursday just like last year so we could see it My sons fav, but if not well thats ok too

I think you should have no problem hitting those. We go in October every year, and we've never had a problem seeing those. Disney Jr. maybe only plays 3 or 4 times a day, instead of 5 or 6, but there are still plenty of chances to see it. Just pick up a Times Guide each morning, and I'm sure you'll be able to find a time that works for you. It's so much less crowded, you get through everything much faster. We were able to do everything we wanted last year, including Aladdin, parades, etc.

The big exception to that is of course F! and fireworks, but it's pretty easy to see those on the weekend if you stay over that time. Just see WOC on one of your other nights. It's actually quite nice to see it at 8:15, you are awake enough to remember it ;)

I've been waiting to see the times for the Phineas and Ferb Dance Party and the Pixar Parade in October. Hopefully it just hasn't been added yet.:scratchin

Entertainment like Pixar Play Parade was added to the September Park Hours only in late August so let's wait a bit more and I'm sure we'll all be happy!

Lots of new entertainment options added yesterday for the first week in October! Pixar Parade every day!

Where do you get the times guide? That would be very helpful.

Sorry, I didn't check this thread again until just now! The Times Guide is available at the front entrance and at several other stops around the parks. Usually in shops, etc. basically anywhere you can get a park map. I usually just pick one up as I walk in though the gate. They announce the entertainment schedule for the day (sometimes a few days, depending) and have information on what time everything takes place, what rides are down, etc. It's nice to have all that info in one area, so you can compare times and see what you want to hit that day! I'm sure there is a high-tech version for your phone or something, but this works just fine!

My kids have been waiting to see Phineas & Ferb as well. Looks like plays on some weekdays but not the weekend. We're there the 19th - 22nd.
