Does anyone know of any discounts for October? When will they come out (if they aren't out already)?

The best I can find is $249/night at the DLH (an "expedia special rate" - I think it said Standard, Sleeps 5). I think the GCH is $339/night. Can you get a rollaway at the GCH in a room with 2 queens? Or, is there any way to guarentee bunkbeds?

How close to arrival is "too close" to book?

Thanks. ;)

I think that there is a "Fall Getaway Package" available thru Disney Club. I think you get a free extra night and extra days added to your hopper passes. There have been some recent postings on the boards about it. You might want to see if Dream Unlimited can help you out too.

We stayed at GC last April and had a room with 1 queen and the bunk beds. I think the bunk bed has a trundle too (we didn't know that at the time!)
I think that if you have 5 people in a room they would be able to accomodate you.

October isn't a real busy time to go--I wouldn't worry about reserving too early. You might find better deals closer to the time you plan to go. I wouldn't book thru Walt Disney Travel--they seem to have very unreasonable policies regarding changing reservations, etc.

Have fun!
Sue:)

there is a fall getaway package right now through the DC, I just booked 4 nights for the price of three, a 5 day park hopper for the pice of a three day, you can book a room with bunk beds. I booked early becouse last year I waited till two months before our trip for the fall getaway promotion to hit, within less then 24 hrs the GCH was sold out! I ended up staying at the PPH, They were nice enough to suprise us with a comp upgrade to concierge, since it was a specail accasion and I was dissapointed in not getting the hotel I really wanted
As for the Disney travel being unreasonable on changing of ressies, They can be thats why I am paying on mine on a monthly basis using my credit card I have till Oct to pay it off and I have thirty days before the trip to make any changes or cancellations without penaltys, at least that is what I was told when I made the reservations, and sometimes it is worth paying the 50.00 to 100.00 to save even more.
it's getting harder to get last minute reservation especailly at the GCH.
Oh and make a big deal if their is a specail accasion, Bday, Aniversary ect. you never know but a lot of times we have gotten specail treatments up to upgrades.
Good luck and have a magical time.

Chrystal.

I booked the Fall Getaway last year, so 4 nights for the price of 3, and a 4 day hopper for the price ofa 3 day. We also got about $100 off with DC discount, for a total of around $1200 for 2 adults. That also included an upgrade to a character breakfast (an extra $11 per person). We got 2 $10 ESPN game cards, luggage tags, and some other little neat things. We found it to be a very convenient package, and after subtracting what we would've paid for the hopper passes, breakfast, and game cards, I figure the actual cost of the room was somewhere around $250 per night for a theme park view.

I've found DL packages to at least "break even" (or come out slightly ahead) with putting it together yourself. Also, it's convenient to have everything there in one folder, and to have the taxes and resort fees included in the cost. Those things can really add up.

We booked thru Dreams Unlimited which was the greatest thing we ever did!
