So looking at trip Oct 16-23 and just about all the rooms are gone.. Is it going to be really busy during that time? Do you think rooms will open up? Really want that time frame as we are going for our anniversary!

Thanks for any info :)

Yes, with the F&W festival at Epcot what used to be a slow season has become one of the busiest. My brother in law was looking for rooms in October at the Beach Club and there were none to be had.

Many of the deluxe have room blocks on hold that week for the Gartner conference, so the limits on deluxe rooms is partly that.

I also wonder if we will see some rooms free up after the dust settles from free dining. I think there are a number of people who book ahead of time, make a new reservation for when FD is available (All of Oct. is blocked out) and then cancel their original reservation for Oct. The beginning of October is VERY busy as there are MANY schools who take a fall break in the first couple weeks. Things SHOULD calm down a bit around the 20th. We'll see though. I am already booked at OKW 10/18-27. Hope it isn't too nutty!

We stayed at Dolphin and were there for food and wine and the MNSSHP, during the week the parks were only crowded, on the weekends, they were so crowded they exceeded capacity and were closed for admission in the afternoon.

And what exactly were the dates you experienced this? YIKES!

Interesting! Well, since I rented points, we are locked in, so will just have good touring plans and be flexible where necessary.

You should be fine -- if possible, avoid Epcot on Saturday and Sunday and get to the MK before noon.

When we went a few years ago in October it was one of my favorite trips. The crowds were not bad and the weather was cooler. This is one of my favorite times of the year to go

Mid October is the date of the Gartner Symposium. It is a huge convention at multiple resorts. Beach Club is one of those resorts. The rooms that don't go for the convention are snatched up early by those interested in the Food and Wine Festival.

I don't remember there being any closures for capacity at the end of October last year. The vast majority of capacity closures are at MK. If they weren't letting anybody in at all it would have to be a Stage 4 closure and that almost never happens at any park except MK. I don't believe Epcot has ever closed for capacity, with the possible exception of 12/31/1999. On a Saturday during Food and Wine the World Showcase will be very very crowded, like shoulder to shoulder crowded, and Future World will be comparatively empty. I don't remember there being even one capacity closure of Epcot.

You are correct, it was the MK that had capacity closure, not Epcot.

You can pack Epcot with roughly the population of several third-world nations without a capacity closure.

true, the capacity of Epcot is massive. May not seem like it on a Saturday at food & wine when you are trying to shoehorn yourself into the pub though.

Yes! This was also our experience in late Oct. of '14. We've been back at least twice a year since then, but not in October. It will be interesting to see how things pan out. Regardless - we will have a fabulous time, I've no doubt ;)
