First off...make sure to stop by Guest Services and get her a birthday button. Crowds are generally slow during October but you will still see long waits for WWoHP. The rest of the park should be a breeze to navigate and remember...the parks close early during that time of year. Temps can still be very humid during the day but nice once the sun goes down. Since October is still in hurricane season, a tropical storm is not out of the question but hopefully that won't happen.

friday the 7th you should be fine.

saturday the 8th, do expect crowds.

like any theme park in orlando, saturdays bring in crowds at all of them.

last year for that columbus day weekend, it was crowded on the weekend.

If you can, get to Universal for park opening and head to the WWoHP first ... crowds and wait times for the WWoHP tend to increase as the day goes on. The rest of the park should be fairly managable crowd wise.

We've gone every October since 2003 and we've encountered years when the temps were extremely hot, then we encountered years like last year where it was unseasonably cool.

Also keep in mind you may encounter an afternoon rain/thunder shower but those usually only last a short time.

As for the Studios, Halloween Horror Nights will be on during your visit which means that the Studios will close at 5:00 pm to get ready for HHN. You won't encounter any "scary" Halloween decorations but there will be some props out in various areas that can't be easily moved.

Not sure how old your DD is, but DD8's must sees after WWOHP are Spiderman, Simpsons and MIB. She was also thrilled to meet Scooby and Shaggy. DS12 would also add Mummy, Hulk and RRR to that list.
