**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Yeah - 9:45pm is late for Pirate's night for the kids. I still can't figure out Cozumel. Maybe I'll just sit on the boat!:upsidedow I read someone's trip report where they went to Tulum and it was the ferry ride that worried me the most - it sounded unsafe.

So I guess that whatever days/times we have Pirate night and leave port they will have it finalized before my ressie window opens for Palo's. This is my first cruise and I'm trying to be laid back about the whole thing. Everything will be new and cool so whether I get this or that thing isn't worrying me too much.......yet!;)

That pic is great Laura! I love the outfits. Was your DH's shirt ordered specially or did you find it? I'd love to find one like that for my dH.

I was SUCH A SNEAKY WIFE. I had told DH that I wanted to dress up for pirate night on the cruise. He groaned moaned and complained. (normal guy ya know)

So then a few days later I asked him... would you wear sweat pants? He said Yup! (his favorite thing to wear around the house lol) I said would you wear a tee shirt. He said Of course...

Sooooooooooo I took a a pair of my blue sweats, cut them off, and then bought a white shirt. I took the pants to Home depot to color match the paint, and painted the strips on the shirt to match. TADA Mr. SMEE!!!

And since it was the promised sweat pants and tee shirt, not much he could do but wear it. :lmao:

He is another shot of him and meh boy at Studio Sea I think (some dance place before dinner)

He will be wearing the same costume and so will I, but I think the kids will be in new ones since they ahve all grown quite a bit.

I also wanted to add that is they do MOVE PIRATE night to Tuesday WE WILL NOT KNOW until we are on the ship... at least from what I have read (people scrambling o change Palo ressies and such...)

HMMM....all this talk has me thinking about my dining rotation. Is formal night Monday (our at sea day?) I guess I didnt think about it being different than the Eastern cruise. If formal is Monday and Wednesday is Pirate, then I think I am going to change to APL rotation. I guess I will just worry about it when I get there and make any changes through Concierge. They should have it set by then! Anyone know when semi formal is as that might be different too?

Saturday Port Canaveral — 4:00 p.m.

Sunday Key West 11:30 a.m. 7:30 p.m. (was listed as 9:30)

Monday At Sea — — FORMAL NIGHT

Tuesday Grand Cayman 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday Cozumel 9:30 a.m. 6:30 p.m. (was 10:00) PIRATE NIGHT

Thursday At Sea — — SEMI FORMAL NIGHT

Friday Castaway Cay 9:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

Saturday Port Canaveral 7:35 a.m. —

What are the possible Dining Rotation times based on recent cruises?
7 day cruise
APL 5:30 and 8:00
PLA 5:45 and 8:15
LAP 6:00 and 8:30

Both formal and semi formal are on Sea days. The first rotations of the night APL at 530 and 800pm will put you in Luminers on those nights. And that kills me. I want the 6 pm dining time with the APL rotation! haha Oh well. I rather eat at 6 than be in the right resturat for what I am wearing haha

Thanks for the info, Laura. I actually had called DCL to confirm all of this. Regarding the staying late in Cozumel, the agent told me that it is very infrequent that they will change the time they leave a port. He said it is up to the captain if they need to stay for something but it happens rarely. He also did advise me that Pirate night can indeed change although it typically happens on Wednesdays. I really hope they leave it as is.....

I must show you what started this whole mess about Pirate night...

This is a link to the newest Western Navagator here on the DIS. I was using it as a guideline to figure out when I should get my massages (woot), and it lists Pirate night as Grand Cayman night. Now I KNEW it was Cozumel night, but I have a momentary brain fart and planned on it being on TUESDAY. Therefore I wanted to book the early pirate encounter so we would have time for a nap before dinner, show and pirate night. A PERFECT PLAN!!!

AND.... That meant we could do the Dolphin Encounter at Chank on our own at 330 on WEDS, since no nap was needed.... Allas now we can't do the Encounter at 330 (must nap before pirate night) and I am not sure I want to pay $100 bucks more to do it earlier via DCL. PLAN FOILED!!! rofl

Such is life :dance3:

Woot, we just got back from the post office and started the process for our passports! 20 weeks out and counting. :cool1:

It went really fast, in and out in about 20 minutes!! I had filled out the forms ahead of time :-)

Now let's hope it doesnt take the full 20 weeks to get them! :lmao:

:cool1: :cool1: we signed for passports on the 17 of march, haven't seen anything yet. they told us could be 10 weeks. hope to see them within the next couple weeks. that will make it so much more real.:dance3: :dance3: have to have them now, or no can travel. better not be a mix up.:headache: :headache: :scared:

Actually, if you don't get them in time (which you should) you still will be able to travel. The law for cruising does not go into effect until 1/2008 at the earliest. As long as you have original birth certificates you will not have a problem. You can always obtain the originals from the state of birth in case you do not already have them. Just an FYI...

:cool1: :cool1: thanks for the heads up. i thought the law was in effect now. that's a load off my mind.  being my first voyage i'm a little up tight, wondering if everything will go alright. thank goodness my DD is planning all the details.:sad2: :sad2: i wouldn't have any idea where to start. i'm so new at computers.:clown: :clown: that's me. but i'm learning all kinds of new things with DD help.

I just read that the Captain grants lates nights in Cozumel if the staff/crew has earned above average marks with the surveys (or something like that) as a perk to the crew. Sooooooooooooooo No way of knowing if it will effect us or not. If it does, and we have a late night in Cozumel it will because we have a great crew aboard the Magic!

I am just planning on it being Weds night like advertised and deal with any changes as they happen... I can roll with it.. really I can :rotfl:

Laura - OK - that is just TOO funny that you painted the strips on that shirt! LOL!

I got my "cruise travel kit" today - anyone get that? Mine came with a brochure on the Wonder rather than the Magic though!

Anyone know if you can buy those rubber stamps anywhere that DCL "stamps" their literature with? I really like the look of them!

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in. I've been dealing w/DM who just got out of the hospital and rehab :sad1: . She's getting to the point where everything she does is a challenge. I envy the PP whose DGM is able to go on the cruise; my mom just couldn't manage, nor would she enjoy herself (her name is Dorothy and she firmly believes there's no place like home!). Now I have to arrange for her care while we are away.

Anyway, DH and I will be in Room 5622. Laura, I guess you'll have to add a deck just for us! (BTW, good one getting your DH in costume! Hmmm, wonder if that'd work for me. :rolleyes1 And your little guy is just beyond cute!)

Just an idea for the initial meeting onboard...how about the Promenade Lounge? It's roomy enough and there wouldn't be all the conflicting noise and crowding of the 10th deck. Anyway, it's something to think about.

Thank you, yes, it is wonderful that she is going and we are lucky that she still has her health. (I hope your mom recovers to the best.) Although we will have to get a wheelchair for moving around because she can be unsteady even on land. Hopefully everything will turn out great and she will have the trip of a lifetime! ;)

It's a reminder to us all that you need to fulfill your dreams before it is too late and the choice to do adventurous fun is taken away from you. It doesn't matter what your age, things have a way of changing when you least expect it. :hippie:

Well, I gotta go back work... for some reason they expect me to do something around here!! :3dglasses GO FIGURE! :confused3

Something just occured to me...

We only have 4 1/2 months to go before the cruise!! :scared1:
There is so much yet to do... I don't even have our packing list started.. 'I better get started on that right away!!'

These things have a way of getting away from you!! :lmao:
If you think about it... 4 1/2 months is really not that long when you factor in summer trips (we camp), summer laziness, school starting..

Oh my goodness we are in trouble!! :headache:

I better get on the ball!! :scared: I am a procrastinator's procrastinator!! Standard procrastinators look at me and say, 'Wow, there is someone worse than me!' I am a procrastinator's bottom (no pun intended!) :rotfl: (you know.. you gotta hit bottom before you can go up -well, I'm the bottom!) pirate:

Well, I'll have to work on this over the weekend.... 'maybe' :rolleyes1

You are exactly right. It's pretty much what I said to my DH. (Just a funny aside. I was talking to my neighbor who has a 97-y-o friend who just bought 3 pairs of summer shoes. How about that for an optimistic nature?! Ya gotta love it!)

And thanks for the wishes for mom. :flower3:

apology, for spelling on last post. :rotfl: :rotfl: didn't see it till too late. can't believe it only 4 1/2 months to go :cheer2: school is almost out, the weather is great for golfing. plants are in the ground. life is good. and then we go cruising. what a wonderful trip to look forward to. it doesn't get any better than this.:hourglass now if only time would pass faster.:dance3: :dance3: :rotfl2: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Today...

We have to sit here and wait...and wait... and wait while you have fun taking all the reservations!!

hey - add us to your reservation so we can do ours too!!! :rotfl: :lmao: :rolleyes1 I won't tell anyone!
