I couldn't find a thread for this cruise - so here it is!
Today, this cruise is one year, five months and one day away. We (DH, DD and I) are looking forward to our first cruise. Yep, first cruise, ever.

Who else is going?

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :beach:
Have a great cruise!

Hello!

We have not yet booked; still planning our first cruise ever - but we are looking at booking this cruise - we just need to make a final decision and book!

It's still a long ways away, but we're excited to try a Disney cruise.

A quick introduction of my family:
DD (15 when we travel); used to be a Harry Potter fan, now she's into Doctor Who and Sherlock. Loves to travel, espescially when she deems the trip "luxurious" - I'm sure this cruise fit that description :thumbsup2
DH; Good at driving long distances, he claims it's relaxing (!), enjoys seeing new places, loves a good mystery pocket book by the pool.
Me; The planner, dangerous left alone with internet on a Sunday morning according to DD (she says "We wake up not knowing we're going on another trip"). If I could do anything for the rest of my life, I would pack my bags, travel, come home and unpack, and repeat.

Since we haven't cruised before, we decided on a four day cruise. We also didn't want to take too much time away from the rest of our vacation. I'm trying to decide if I want us to relax and not do activities or do as much as possible. Do you have any opinions or experiences?

My DW (Pikaboo27), DS (2 1/2 on the cruise) and I are headed on our first DCL trip next fall. We can't wait.

Booked through Dreams Unlimited we secured a Deluxe inside stateroom on deck 9.

Can't wait to see all that the Dream has to offer.

Hi there sdlipton and family :welcome:
It's exciting to know there are others going on their first cruise at the same time as we are. Have you started planning of any kind?

We have started planning the rest of our vacation, but havn't really given much thought to the cruise yet. We might just play it by ear (very new concept to me.... :-) )

debating on this cruise...

This would be my 6th cruise on DCL.

We know we will be doing a DCL cruise Oct 2014 Just have not totally decided which one.\

Really didn't want my DD to miss much school and these 4 days are the best we can do I think.

We will be celebrating her 18th bday but she will not turn 18 til end of the month

Hi Dizzi,
I understand not wanting her to miss much school. This trip will be our last during the school year for some years - after next year DD's attendance at school is much more important.

Hope to see you there!

While I was looking for cruises I thought, I had seen some that were Friday to Monday but I certainly cant find them now.

Dizzy, I see some three-night Bahamian cruises going Friday to Monday, but they're few and far between. Hope you find a cruise to fit your needs :thumbsup2

We have decided to rather book the 4 days Bahamas cruise of 28 September; as it is more suitable in terms of our plans.

It is pity we will not get to meet T1nkerbell; our oldest daughter will also be 15 at the time of the cruise; and used to be a big Harry Potter fan too :) - now our 12 year old daughter is a fan!

It will also be our first cruise ever; after which we will be in Disney World for 10 days.

I do hope you have a wonderful cruise!

That's not bad idea Tink....

I will be calling one, but I dont think they are in Oct, and that is when I should sail,

Tinkerbell, we would have loved to start planning but Disney won't let us book anything until April of next year. April 22nd to be specific I think. We are doing 3 days at WDW after the cruise and a day before. Thats the extent of it.

I know my DW is already downloading and reviewing Navigators from the 4 night Bahama's cruise on the Dream to possibly try and plan out our days.

I've only done "big-picture" planning so far. We'll be flying in on the day before and renting a car. We'll need to stock up a bit, since there's no use hauling everything from home. Our hotel is at the top of I-drive, close to WalMart, Whole Foods and pharmacies and then we'll drive to the port the morning of.

Since we have three weeks of vacation, we'll stick around for a while after the cruise. First in WDW, then off-property.

So.... bad news and good news all rolled into one. My DW and I decided to upgrade our cruise to the Fantasy, departing 10/4/13 from Port Canaveral. Headed to the other thread now.

Hey there Mrs - It's just us so far, I believe, but :welcome:
I'd like to do an FE exchange, too. I find I'm in a holding pattern for this trip right now. I have a countdown app and I follow airfare prices to get an idea of when to book. But that's it.

How about you?
