October 31, 2009

Since we are flying into Tampa, we will still be spending the evening with Eric's mom. Eric and I have talked about renting a car and going to the Radisson, but does not make sense for us. We will be at the port first thing Saturday morning so we will see everyone there!!!!!

Does anyone know if you can send yourself a package if you're staying at a WDW hotel? If so, do you need to do any special addressing? Thinking of mailing halloween costumes to/from Florida because it looks to be a lot cheaper than checking a second suitcase with the airline.

Yes you can! We used to always ship diapers/wipes/snacks etc... Address it to the hotel (make sure you have the correct mailing address) Then C/O your name w/check-in date & res#. They will hold it til you get there. At check in they should say you have a package, sometimes they will give it to you on the spot or send bell services to your room w/it later on.

Bdette, the shirts look great.

Shell, I'm so excited to get the lanyards. Thanks again for taking care of this.

My first weekend in 2 months to not be working, so I'm working on FE gifts and magnets. Yeah!! I had a creative lightbulb go on last night and finally know what I'm doing.:cool1:

A little look .....

Thanks Shell![/QUOTE]

Wow they are cool! Great job!

We are staying at the AKV for 3 nights before and going to the Halloween Party at the MK on the 29th. Anyone else going? Haven't decide how we are getting to port yet but plan on being there by 10:30.

Did I read a while back that there is a facebook group setup? If so can some pm me the page. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. This make make things easier for me.

Since everyone is talking about hotels. I will be canceling 2 rooms at the Hyatt at MCO for Friday night the 30th. We are staying at the Radisson near the port instead.
I haven't canceled them yet. Let me know if you need a room and we can coordinate my cancel with your booking.

We will be at the Hyatt, our flight gets in close to midnight on the 30th.

Am I really going to be the first one to post that 2 months from today I won't be a newbie anymore.

:goodvibes SO exciting! I wish we would get our documents! I want to learn more about all Hallowen onboard!

I really don't think we'll get anything other than the letter that I posted earlier. They don't want to spoil any surprises.

Came across this thread on the Disboards!

Interesting and exciting for the future!

Kids Chat tonight 8 - 9 PM ET.

That is interesting, Steve. Sure wish some of that was going to be done before the 31st!! LOL!

Steve - thank you for the card for Jared. It touched us all. :) Thank your family for us.

Yes!!!! Kids' Chat tonight!!!!

so, how knows the answer to this, and if no one does, who knows how we can find out.
Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are being released at the beginning of October in 3-D as a double feature. I heard that they will only be in theaters for 2 weeks.
I can't imaging not seeing this. Toy Story is in my top 3 Disney movies of all time, and seeing it in 3-D is a must. But then again, why see it for $15 in the theaters if I can see it for free on the ship 2 weeks later.

Do we think it will on the ship? Even something with a limited engagement?
Is there any possible way to know. I'd hate to miss it.

Thought you guys might want to see this. Got it from concierge on Friday ......

That is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. $4.50 per picture (Not printed) IF you have 90 pictures taken, don't take 90 and you pay even more... On top of that they are reducing the size of the photo's to 1 meg which really isnt a great idea as it really does limit your sizes, yer you could get a 8 x 10 printed but it won't be of the quality you would get it they give you the photo in the size shot.. I am sure some folks are interested in this but I can do alot more with my money, heck that is a new digital camera, lens, etc.

Jeff - You can call DCL two weeks before the cruise and find out what movies are playing. Since the World Premier of the new Disney Christmas Carol is on the Friday night of our cruise I would guess we will get that but DCL has started showing 3-D movies so we will have to call.

One more thing to add to the list.

But if you buy a lot of pictures (we bought a fair amount last time), then it's worth it to get the CD instead of all of the printed ones. I like being able to choose my size and not have all of the printed pictures to take home. I know it's expensive, but there are shots that we can't get on our own sometimes.

Hmmm...I need to go look for your post! I haven't had time to go over all the previous post yet.:goodvibes

I just read over 50 pages!:rolleyes1

Now you just need to convince me not to cancel. I'm so upset over this Palo thing. If I missed out and didn't get a reservation, that is one thing. But by having them fill up before I even got an opportunity to book is upsetting to me. I'm giving them the same amount of money as everyone else, I should have the same opportunities to do things. I feel like a second class citizen. I never expected Disney to treat me this way.

This happen to us on our first cruise...we had no trouble getting reservations for brunch and dinner onboard...we had many times and dates to choose from! It was the first place we went when we got onboard though...line was short but it was only 12:00. We'll be going there again this time...I really loved brunch and had to leave early last time because Alicia got seasick in the club:scared1:

Hey Kelly and Jen (and anyone else that knew I was doing Wii Fit) ... Fair warning ... DO NOT get the Jillian Michael's Wii fitness program. It's horrible!!! I hate it.

I wish I read this before I bought it...I really don't like it either.

Yeah, I'm actually planning to preorder EA. It's suppose to be really good. I'm excited about it. It comes with the resistance bands and a special thing to hold a remote on your leg. :)
This is what I was going to buy but decided on Jillian Michael's...not impressed!

This is so neat! Great tip!

For anyone, like myself, who's interested in what/where Castaway Cay is, here's a link to view it in a satellite photo. One of the ships is docked at the pier, too.

I wish I was there right now!

Just booked min van rental with Budget to get back and forth from the airport.
Code was S190554.
I haven't seen cheaper rates than this.
Anyone use budget down there before? According to google maps, the Radisson and Budget are about a quarter of a mile apart. I much prefer the idea of returning the car, and walking back to the hotel, so then we can all take the hotel shuttle to the port.
This is a great rate code...can anyone use it? I used budget they have a great transfer service to port.

Looks like we are going to have a wonderful uncrowded day in the Grand Caymans... There are only two ships scheduled to be in port (Carnival Freedom and us) with a total of 4624 passengers.

This is great! It get's really busy here somedays...I am really looking forward to going to 7 mile beach for the day!

Will you and your family/group be going formal on formal night??
We are planning to dress up. It will depend on what fits in the suitcases!!! My little one has enough princess dresses to cover the week. I would like to have a nice Christmas picture so hopefully something will come together
We haven't decide...it was alot of fun last time though...and many people were dressed up! We might just have a pool night instead...

Hello fellow cruisers....

I have kind of a personal question to ask so don't answer if you don't want to do so.

How many of you are trying to get into shape or lose weight before the cruise?

I lost a lot of weight over the past few year but over the past year I haven't been as good at exercising...since I booked the cruise I have been working out all the time...

Hey everyone!!!
Less than 160 days now. :)
Question of the week ....
What's the first thing you're going to do when you get on the ship???
Palo reservations then go up to Mickey's Pool with the kids and just get something there to eat.

Ok ... QUESTION OF THE WEEK - *****Important One ********

I've been pricing lanyards and name badge holders.

So .... pipe up, tune in, shout out, and let me know. What are you willing to pay for each lanyard/badge holder?

If you know of somewhere I should look, let me know that, too. I'm searching all over the place....and I'm frustrated.

I am so disappointed I missed out on these I would have loved to order one.

Hey ... Question - anyone here done the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique with their daughter???? I am thinking about doing that for Jaydin before MNSSHP on the 29th......
Did you book it for her after? I had a lot of clients take their daughter their and loved it!

I just did my one WDW ADR this morning. It was really strange only doing one LOL
What did you book?

Boma, Jiko, Sanaa, Rose & Crown Pub, Le Cellier, Yak & Yeti, Sci Fi Dine In, Kona Cafe (twice), Crystal Palace, Beaches and Cream, Earl of Sandwich, Food and Wine Festival Booths and Yakitori House.

Oh. We are also eating at Cracker Barrel and in our DVC one-bedroom villa.
:)
They are great choices!

There are definitely plans for Halloween on the ship.

Here's the letter I received from concierge on Friday (meant to post it sooner!!! Sorry - migraine and family gathering). I would suspect that this is the letter (or close to it) that we will all be receiving in our cruise documents.

Thank you for choosing Disney Cruise Line. We look forward to sailing with you this fall during Halloween and have planned several “spooktacular” events that will be taking place onboard.

During your voyage, we will host themed events for all ages and feature Trick-or-Treating throughout the ship. Though not required, we encourage Guests of all ages to bring along their costumes for these special events. There will be a costume contest on one evening with prizes being awarded based on the following categories:

Funniest

Best Group

Most Spooky

Most Original

Most Disney

More information on themed party dates, times and locations will be available onboard in the Personal Navigator that will be delivered to your stateroom. All Guests are invited to wear costumes, however, we ask that you choose costumes which are not obstructive or offensive. To avoid any disappointment or delay in your boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.

Again, we look forward to sailing with you and hope you have a magical cruise.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew of Disney Cruise Line

Thank you so much for posting this!

It was really nice chatting with everyone last night:goodvibes Soon we will be onboard!
